    1) that transplant rejection has nothing to do with the overall case for or against mar1juana use. it is a unique incident, and thus you cannot imply a larger point/trend from singular occurrence. i don't think you are implying 'smoking will make your body reject all transplants', but if you are not then i have no idea what point you are making that 'surgeons know that we don't.'

    2) i don't have kids, and if i did i would obviou

    accidental submission.
    continued.

    2) i don't have kids, and if i did i would obviously not be able to monitor them 24/7. and to you implied question, yes they would be able to get stoned behind my back. just because they could get high, and just because you could, really has nothing to do with why you should or should not.

i understand your point. that i am envisioning the 'ideal nuclear family' and that many family units are far from ideal, therefore some kids would fall through the cracks so to speak. it's true in a sense, but not my fault or josh howards'. if my kids smoke, it would be a 'symptom' of their upbringing, and perhaps in your mind an indictment of my parenting skills, but IMO it would be far from a failure. you act like if you would have smoked behind your mother's back, then there is no way you wouldn't be on the streets by now. that's not true for the average person, and knowing from personal experience, mar1juana use is highly manageable. i don't know you at all, but i'd imagine you are capable of handling both weed and life.

Looks like he smoked a bowl or two before the game.

    3-16 shooting for Howard.

The Mavericks are quite a hilarious train wreck at the moment. Kidd slows them down considerably, Cuban can't find a replacement for Avery, and Josh Howard would rather be at the bottom of a bag of Funyuns.

A lot of people have smoked or at least tried weed at one point in their life. Amongst American teens today, I think it was like 90% that have at least tried a hit. I don't have a source or anything that's just from memory.

Weed isn't THAT bad for you unless, like most things, you overuse it. Of course, lighting anything on fire and sucking it into your lungs isn't good, but you can live a normal life while toking up once in a while. I'm not advocating it or anything, that's just how it is.

Of course you will meet or know the people who were smart and then ruined their lives by smoking WAY too much pot, and then you will meet people where you will be like WOW that guy/girl smokes pot?

A lot of NBA players smoke weed. A majority? I don't know. I'm sure it's at least a cool 100 of them...I'm guessing like an average of 3-4 per team. That could be way short. I don't know.

Admitting it, unless he had another motive, was just baffling.

For those people concerned that Josh Howard isn't sending a message, you're right, but that message right now is looking like: " I smoke weed, I am having a bad series ". This would actually discourage anyone impressionable enough to associate the two together. They'd think " Oh my God, if I smoke weed I'd go 3 for 16? Not for me... "

Thank you Josh Howard, for discouraging weed smoking to America in your own strange little way.

ICAM. Its all about money. Any of those pharmaceutical drugs you see on TV are FAR more dangerous than smoking weed. I've never heard of anyone dying of a weed overdose or a weed overdose alltogether.

well, it's good to see all that anti-drug money gone to good use.

you can tell the difference in attitudes towards pot based on age.

the ones that came thru school since DARE was started are convinced by the government's propoganda that pot is no different than heroin or coke.

they mean well, but as someone who has been around and tried everything, I can guarantee you it is no worse than alcohol.

and if you have never even been around it, you got zero place making pronouncements about its use....you simply dont know anything but what the War on Drugs people have drilled into your brain.

out of the large group of people I know that did it and still do it to this day...not one of them is a lazy layabout...every one of them has a job and family and responsibilities they take care of.

the only difference between them and yall is that instead of coming home and having a drink or two to unwind from a long day at work, they have a toke or two.

that is alot more predominate than many of you want to believe.

And the truly funny thing is that in their arrogance, they NEVER saw this coming. The trade for Kidd made no sense whatsoever - they weren't losing games because of Devon Harris, they were losing agmes because they have no one who can play in the post to get them the tough points when the cips are down. Cuban will make Avery the fall guy for his mistakes this year and in others. That's why I've always told all of the Mav-Haters around here to chill out because they are really wasting their time and effort hating on the Mavs. It's something that is not needed because the Mavs are their own worse enemy. Why hate an oppenent who takes himself out?

Current illegal users of drugs are not "individuals with disabilities" under the ADA. However, persons addicted to drugs, but who are no longer using drugs illegally and are receiving treatment for drug addiction or who have been rehabilitated successfully, are protected by the ADA from discrimination on the basis of past drug addiction.

There is only one way in which FORMER drug users can fall within the purview of the ADA, and that is when the person is erroneously perceived as being an addict and when the perception is that the individual is CURRENTLY using drugs illegally.

Yea, yea, Howard is a role model. Sure some kid out there may have thought that Josh Howard was advocating cannabis but they can't get weed from JH. The real threat of kids getting stoned is that they are seeking an illicit substance and must go through a drug-entrepenuer to find what they are looking for.

Being lazy and hungry is one thing, but kids without the discretion to abstain from getting stoned probably underestimate the danger of being around/exchanging money with the questionable characters that peddle it. Looking back, I should never have been in about 90% of the cars/apartments I was in, with who I was with, when I was getting high. I saw and tried things that I never was looking to, simply because of the circumstance I put myself in to get stoned. It's so much more stupid than getting high itself, that I'm ashamed to not stopped myself altogether.

Pot wouldn't be such a gateway drug if they took away the gate. The drug dealer usually is the connection that pressures them to get into harder, more unhealthy practices, not the weed itself. If it was regulated and available at a head shop rather than some apartment, that is better for the users in the end. Looking at the 'weed decriminalization' argument that's been going on in this thread (and moreover the country for years), it's important to remember how widespread mar1juana use is, despite its illegality. Users of the drug will use, and we shouldn't cast them into the unreachable, unregulatable chasm of "illegal drug users".

I don't care much about the weed use. Admitting it is a much bigger issue and PR. I also find Josh Howard just a completely annoying player on the court. Him and JET just come off the like the punk twins.

But I'd totally be willing to "buy" low. He is a talented player and at just turning 28 his effectiveness has fairly consistently risen over the 5 years he has been in the league.
