That's also kind of the opinion of my human sex prof. at UT. First day of class, she said, "Girls, give up the "I'm so innocent" routine about sex!" She received a loud ovation from the guys.
5.3 seconds? Either my libido is draining away, or it doesn't actually work like that. I might spend 4 hours or so a day thinking about it, but not in little smidgeons every 5.3 seconds. If I'm busy, I might go as long as 6 hours without it ever crossing my mind. And when I am actually thinking about it, it might take a little longer than an hour to go away... More like 5 minutes of dirty thoughts, then 3 hours of clean thoughts, then a half hour of dirty thoughts, then another 3 hours of clean thoughts, then with nothing to do but watch Baywatch, another hour (plus a few minutes afterwards) of dirty thoughts, then another half hour of clean thoughts, then remembering Baywatch for another half hour... That's not too abnormal, is it? And No, before anybody asks, I am not getting any right now. Maybe if I was getting a little more, it would only be two hours a day...
I believe they mean any simple sexual thought, which can cover a wide range of things. Don't be fooled guys. Women think and talk about it just as much or close to as often as guys do.
I've been doing a little study on myself this morning, and I thought I might share the data with the BBS for the purpose of drawing some conclusions. before I begin, let me just say that a couple of factors will skew my research in specific ways: 1) I work in an environment where there is a proliferation of scantily-clad, attractive young women 2) wherever your "average" level of sexual-preoccupation is for your "normal" male, I'd be willing to be bet that I'd fall on the high side of it 3) I am 27 years old, for whatever that's worth 4) the fact that I was conducting a study on sex probably influenced me to think of it perhaps more than I might otherwise; or maybe no my study only lasted about 45 minutes, but already I have begun to see definite patterns. here are the times of the sexual thoughts I've recorded since the beginning of my study: 7:09:14 7:11:22 [128 seconds later] 7:12:12 [50 seconds later] 7:12:39 [17 seconds later] 7:13:03 [24 seconds later] 7:13:26 [23 seconds later] 7:14:48 [82 seconds later] 7:16:10 [82 seconds later] 7:17:51 [101 seconds later] 7:18:17 [26 seconds later] 7:18:46 [29 seconds later] 7:28:35 [589 seconds later] so my study lasted approximately 1151 seconds, and I had 12 sexual thoughts. that leaves me thinking about sex approximately once every 96 seconds, or once every 1.5 minutes. the most obvious thing that I was able to discern about my sexual thought patterns was that I basically thought about sex whenever I saw an attractive female. when I was looking at the candy machine, I didn't think about sex. when I turned around and saw a girl, I thought about sex. the highest period of activity was when I was walking through the hall. once I got to my desk and my computer, my thoughts went elsewhere. so here's my conclusion: the frequency of men's sexually-inclined thoughts does not correspond to any temporal measurement so much as it corresponds to the frequency of attractive women in a man's direct line of sight. men think about sex everytime they see a pretty girl. or at least I do. it's really just that simple.
so one general comparison that could possibly be drawn between guys and girls [as far as who thinks of sex more] would be: girls [all 3 of you], do you think about sex everytime you see even a mildly attractive guy?
That sounds too high to me. I think about sex every few days, and then when I start thinking, it is like this non-stop obsession, then it dies out and I'm completely sex-thoughts free for the next few days, get immersed in work, sometimes over 5-6 days, and then back to being an animal for a few days!
Honestly, I do not. But I really haven't since I've been dating Lynus. It's like my radar has been turned off to any other guy. I don't even check them out anymore. I personally have fleeting thoughts once in a while and sometimes I have a couple of minutes. I don't think it's that different for men or women. Maybe it's just what triggers it, for me at least.
It was Sigmund Freud who said our sex drive is our principle motivating force. I have a test tomorrow
I think this was somebody's signature but ill go ahead and post it anyways... Sex is like air, its only important if you aren't getting any. Anyways, do they count the time that you are actually having sex.. if you go into a hypnotic trance.. does it count as thinking about it? -F2k1
nope, but an attractive dude that can actually hold an interesting conversation with me makes me think of smashing sometimes.
