Good for him -- our troops are protecting his right to free speech around the world as we sit back, drink beer, and prepare for NBA playoff basketball.

    God bless America.

Because they have that training, police officers are less likely to be spooked in non-dangerous situations. There was a study done (in Denver I believe) that measured the responses of police officers and civilians when exposed to simulated armed and unarmed targets. Police officers had faster and more accurate reactions, and unlike the general population, did not display a racial bias in their final decisions.

When the police end up shooting someone that is unarmed, it is generally a mistake and a reasonable mistake at that.

The lesson to take from this story, as it seems to be in every thread about cops, is to follow the instructions that police officers give you.

Probably the last time whites committed a disproportionate percentage of violent crimes:

It's freaking ignorant. So police could shoot me, if I am unarmed but I seem threatening to them because well I am black and I must be a real threat because blacks are most of the time.

I guess I should call the child abuse hotline anytime I see a 16 year old or younger child with an older white man too.

Sorry, I wan't directing that toward you just the ignorance of some that based on stats, predjudices, or instincts that it is OK to kill a select group of people.

The statistics also indirectly reflect the cops' own experiences. Most of the killers they have to apprehend and arrest, while risking their own lives, are black. If we're "freaking ignorant" enough to put them on the defensive while already understanding this, then we're writing our own death certificates.

So we should accept our position as second class citizens
    with a nice . . Yes'em Boss . . .

You saying black folx should not expect the same benefit of the doubt anyone else gets?
you saying black folx should accept this . . . and leave it at that

otherwise. . .we writing out own deathcertificate
    and that
anything a cop sees as threatening. .whether blinking too fast , reaching for a wallet or 'Reckless eyeballing' . . is good enough for you
becuase of their wealth of experience ??? and of course various stats

Just out of curiosity SM, would you believe anyone with a gun and do what they tell you to as long as they say they're a cop? Remember that these were undercover cops outside of a nightclub...

I suppose it would depend on what they told me to do. If it was cop like things (freeze, put your hands up, etc.) then yes. If it was something strange for a cop to order me to do (blow him, go rob that liquor store, etc.) then no.

    Define Dangerous and Non Dangerous
I don't agree with your premis and I would have to review the Denver Research
because some research is like Statistics. . .can be twisted to say anything
