okay i'll be back after half an hour now. if no one has claimed it by then, i will get rid of the 250 posts requirement.
I wish I had two friends. And more posts and lived in Houston. Incidentally, a couple of years ago me and the whole family went to the last Astro's game in the Dome. We saw them get lose in the playoffs to the Braves. Most of us live in Austin where scalping is legal. We had an extra ticket so we were going to sell it so that someone else could go to the game. My brother held it up over his head just like we always do when going to a UT football or basketball game. A man approaches and asks "how much?" My brother says "real cheap. Five dollars." That was way less than what we paid. It turns out the guy was a cop and took him into the bowels of the Astrodome for interrogation. We had no idea what happened to him. We were looking around for thirty minutes before they finally coughed him back up.
It is my understanding that ticket scalping is only illegal when selling the tickets for more than face value (I dont even know if it is called scalping when doing otherwise?)
If you're right, then that makes me even more annoyed that they took him down in the hole. But this was a couple of years ago so letting it go would probably be the thing to do. I think, but I'm not sure, the Houston ordinance bars selling tickets by a private party at the venue but not elsewhere.
