What I wanna know is why Novak is not in on the last play to spread the floor and be an option for the 3-ball? How do you not have the 2nd best 3 point shooter in the NBA on the floor at that time?

I agree, along with missed rebounds and FT, that's the difference of the game.

Hindsight, TMac or Landry should have gotten that lets be honest. Okur wanted it more.

Also no guarentee on timeout, if we have a good chance to run it we probably would have.

FTS loss the game for us...again.

t-mac needs to do something at the line. Landry has surpassed him now shooting FTs

RA thought they're good enough to grab a defensive rebound from FT line.

We fought hard, but you can look at free throws,You can look at all the bunk whistles,You can look at are in-ability to score a single field goal the first 6 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

    exactly..thats exactly what i said

why the heck did tracy tip it!?!?!?!?

i was thinking that he shouldve boxed out boozer and let landry grab it! his tip made it harder for carl because of okur's height advantage

He tipped the ball and then didn't have enough energy or lift to continue to pursue the miss.

Actually the Jazz hit NOT A SINGLE 3 pointer. So Rockets were lucky to even have the game this close..

But you still have to take care of the things in your control, which is free throws. cuz ya never know....the other team can miss all 14 of their 3's and keep you in the game... :(

LOL! If Adelman sub and the Rockets blow the rebound, I guess there will be the same thread saying why Adelman sub and blow the rebound. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

T-Mac should box out instead of jumping and tipping the ball when the Rockets all had inside positions. T-Mac tipped the ball loose, ow Landry should have the rebound.

i didn't even notice tmac tipping it. now i wanna see a replay. i just saw landry let okur shove him under the basket. they're not going to call anything there so you just have to shove back as hard as you can and get that board. i really wanted deron to make it b/c i knew we wouldn't get the board no matter where it bounced (figure'd it'd bounce long). at least a 3 could've tied it. so crushing to have have a chance to take a 3 to win it. probably would've missed the 3, but would've been fun to take.

Yep, Landry is one of the best rebounders. but op's point is valid - why not put our top 3 rebounders on the one play where getting the rebound matters the most in this game.

You cant assume that Deke would've gotten the rebound. I would've done the same thing as Adelman. Heres my thought process:

Williams JUST missed the first free throw. It was a crucial free throw that he missed and he probably feels the weight of the world pressuring him. Do I really want to call a timeout and let him mentally regroup? Give Sloan a chance to calm him down? Or do I want him to shoot his second free throw immediately while he's probably still very apprehensive?

Keep in mind I have rebounders down below who have performed consistently throughout the game.

The problem with this play wasnt the lack of a timeout. The problem was Landry letting himself get pushed under the basket. But he's a rookie and rookies make mistakes. Nothing Adelman or anyone could've done about it.

But what they can do is force tmac into the gym tomorrow to shoot 500 free throws.
