If you haven't seen this yet, do yourself a favor and check it out this weekend. It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in awhile. I had high expectations after H&K Go to White Castle, but this one was non-stop ridiculous. I won't give away any spoilers here but NPH is back, and there's several scenes that will really make you cringe. Out of 10, I give it a 9.5. Surprisingly, the 7:00P and 9:30P were sold out at Alamo on South Lamar, so I had to hit up the Metropolitan in South Austin. Either way, you don't need to be high or liquored up to enjoy this one. Highly recommended.
i was so high when i saw the 1st one i would've laughed at schindler's list.... that being said, it was pretty funny (the 1st one). definitely an alamo drafthouse flick, though.
i saw it...very very funny i would say 3 times a funny as the first one...there seemed to be a lot more random things going on
i agree. saw it last night at edwards on weslyan (sp?). Spoiler the background banter is what probably more funny than anything that harold or kumar spoke during the movie... especially the grape soda/kool aid part.
the movie was ridiculous. Spoiler Syed's balls made me almost throw up Spoiler so how was that **** meat sandwich?
My nephew (16 years old) wants me to take him to see this. From the reviews, I might just have to do that.
while it had some hilarious scenes (the 3 or 4 minutes actually at guantanamo practically had me crying), i thought it tried too hard to be crude and gross and didn't end up being as funny to me as the first one. still funny, but nothing great (the grape soda/koolaid was funny as well). and while i was a fan of the Spoiler bottomless party scene, that's just b/c Spoiler naked girls are always good, not because it took any effort to be funny or clever. the craziest thing about this movie for me was reading beforehand that cho is 35 years old! and kal penn is 31. i had no idea they were that old.
not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was kind cool how... Spoiler ... the inbred alabama basement baby looked exactly like the cyclops dude from that movie krull. i mean, seriously... if it wasn't deliberate, then it's a hell of a coincidence. see what i mean?
I saw the movie a little more than a month ago. It goes above and beyond the first. Look out for the bottomless party. It's disgusting. I interviewed NPH, Kal Penn and John Cho and the directors/writers of the movie. Check them out if you can: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UQTs5JhluM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DglmiOv7WI John was really out of it. I didn't get time to ask him on camera about the new Star Trek movie. Afterward, he said it ****ing sucked 'cause nothing worked.
I just got back from this and was pretty disappointed in it. I loved the first and have watched it on DVD multiple times...something about this one just seemed a little forced. NPH stole the show again. Not bad, but a little disappointed is all.
Laughed hard a lot of the movie. It was awesome indeed. It just kept going on and on with random stuff so damn funny, like the KKK stuff, man that was hilarious.
saw this as a double feature after Iron Man, good stuff, guess I was little to built up for it, but still funny. Spoiler Anybody liked the way that the title HAD NOTHING to do with the movie? It kind of caught me off guard, especially the whole Kumar story with his ex. At first you'd think it was about escaping GBay, then it only was like 5 mins of the movie, then you'd think it was about Harold getting Maria, WHO IS FREAKING SMOKING HAWT btw, but that was just the last 5 mins of the movie. Regardless, I thought the movie was flawless and better than I expected. Pretty jacked up that NPH died...
The first one was much better. Spoiler What I hated: 1) Too much nudity - I'm not a prude but it's pretty awkward to have close up vags on the big screen. Raza getting out of the pool was disgusting. I also thought the three way scene with Kumar, Kumar's ex, and the mar1juana was too much. Did they "fist" the mar1juana? 2) If they ever make a Part 3, it needs to be about getting high and getting into trouble only like the first one. Keep the romance out of it. What I liked: 1) The interrogation scenes with the parents and the Jewish neighbors. 2) The phone call where Goldstein (?) tells Kumar that Cindy Kim gave him a blumpkin. 3) The guys in the hood coming to help...the grape soda scene was funny. 4) When goth Harold sees Kumar and Kumar's ex making out in the library stacks.
