I was reading that nearly all adults have demodex mites in their eyelashes,...It seems far-fetched, but I guess it's true.... no link, but can anyone else confirm that?....
Yes everyone has mites. Even if you don't have mites in your eyelashes you have mites all over your skin helping themselves to dead skin. We are ecosystems unto ourselves with all sorts of other organisms on and in us. In fact we would have a hard time digesting our food without helpful bacteria in our guts. If that doesn't freak you out enough I've heard that interms of raw numbers there are probably more bacteria living on and in us than our own cells.
Here a some links by the way: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/9812/fngm/index.html http://www.entomology.ucr.edu/ebeling/ebel9-4.html#other mites causing allergy http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/2000/2101.html
Mites are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. In your mattress, pillows, pretty much everywhere dust settles. Have pets? Oh yeah, you have a whole different set of mites. Just try not to think about it next time you have to get somewhere that's -really- dusty like the top of a bookshelf or inside of a computer. There's whole civilizations of mites living there.
It's called fire and hand sanitizer. Most things will either drown or burn. We joke but think of the most extreme cases of germaphobia and how this thread would terrify them enough to do something like set yourself on fire. Out of 6 billion people, there's bound to be a few.
