The league has made a significant effort to try to make the game more marketable. That means to reward the quicker players and teams. They change rules and ignore others to make sure this happens. Players like Yao and tmac use skills from the triple threat and post to gain an advantage on the defender intelligently, even if they are far slower. No one outside of houston wants to see the rockets succeed because they are slow and play good defense.
I'm ecstatic that they won the game, but the refs have GOT to do a better job on the officiating. Terrible flops by the Jazz and Kirilenko in particular. How can they fall for that ****? AK was pushing and shoving T-Mac when Mac was trying to set a screen and then when T-Mac returns the favor, Kirilenko does his best Hollywood impression and gets a call. And it's ALL GAME LONG with calls like that. Clean that **** up, NBA.
I was pacing the entire 4th quarter lol. Absolutely incredible feeling. The absolute best part of it is, we can do better. It's not like we played out of our minds and shot 60% or anything. Rafer shot a little better than he usually does, but everyone else had pretty average games. A lot of times you get big wins like this, but you point to uncharacteristically high percentages or lows for the otehr team and say it was an aberration. But that game just felt real in line with what we are capable of doing. Combine that with the fact that we're a couple bad calls and a couple free-throws from being up 2-1, I've got a ton of confidence in this team. GO ROX!
Yeah. I may be wrong, but that may be one of the small advantages of no Yao. We've got a more physical player on him and that's keeping him as primarily an outside jump shooter. Don't get me wrong, we'd be far better off with Yao, but I think in that particular match-up we get a little bit of an advantage.
i know this might be in the wrong thread but looking at this dunk from tmac in game 2 u can clearly see that he hasn't lost much explosiveness from his first year <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PdckAhnqHdc&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PdckAhnqHdc&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
No he definately has. That was a great dunk, but he isn't physically able to do that all the time. Trust me, he knows how he feels when he has the ball in his hand, and he knows the best offense is penetrating. If he felt like he could do it effectively at all times he would.
true but i completely forgot how quick tmac was especially in 2002-2003 season if look at this clip around 51s mark when steals and sprints <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_EVG8V5VBrY&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_EVG8V5VBrY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
My apologies to R2K, but I re-watched the game on the computer and figured I would cut up some clips (then just did them all). So highlights are up ... http://www.clutchfans.net/multimedia/
tmac use to drop 30 pt gms in the playoffs easy actually.he was averging 30 ppg in the dallas series and this tmac is barley averging 23ppg in the playoffs
WOW Man If only we could get that guy on the court lol. It's too bad about his persistent injuries. He'd be right there with Kobe if he weren't constantly getting hurt. Love em' though.
