First of all, I want to thank you for my life. Its not exactly what I thought it was going to be...as you know, I thought I would be Will Smith before there was a Will Smith. You know I am not that religious. Should be but I like our relationship the last few years...despite not getting the Will Smith status or bank account to help the needy by the gabilllions as I hoped back in the 80's.

Still, I am truly blessed and have a wonderful life in the greatest city on the planet in the greatest country on Earth (despite the work of SOME to ruin the last 200 years of greatness for all of us!). I truly am blessed. I believe everyone in America should thank their lucky stars to live here...it could be alot worse...just watch international news.

What else can I ask for....?....but you knew I had to ask the night before last nights game...

AND I WANT TO THANK YOU! I thought it was impossible to have you influence the playoff outcome of my absolutely favorite team. You heard my prayers and although many, many people say you are really a Yankees fan, I beg to truly differ.

How else can you explain getting every call in last nights game despite being on the road? You heard me ask for a miracle...something to not get swept and embarrassed by the team which clearly is favored by that other Evil Being that all of us kinda don't like much.

We got every stinkin call! EVERYONE! And thats after getting NO CALLS the last two games!

    WOW...

So, big guy, I know you are rather busy running the universe...actually, you have alot to handle just with this planet...with all the psychos killing kids in your name. I truly appreciate you taking a small universal milli-nilli second to take a look at the game and say "Hey, lets have some fun tonight."

No, this isn't a good versus evil thing. If the Jazz still win, is that a win for the Evil One?

Maybe. But we all know if you REALLY wanted, you can pretty much annihilate his b**** ass.

But if you REALLY want to stick it to him (again), do what you did last night, give us some more calls and plant a tiny bit of will power into my boys so that they don't be scared going to the hole. We win this series...who knows?

You were on our side for two years....how 'bout coming back on the bandwagon!

    We missed ya!

PS...just one quick note. I will be praying heavily for Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer to break their legs at the same time during the first quarter. Nothing serious. Not life threatening. Just enough to join Yao on the sidelines until next year....

If its not too much to ask, oh mighty one.

Not to ruin your prayer mojo, but we had 2 more fouls than Utah and shot 11 less free throws. Of course, this time we actually shot over 72% from the line whereas Utah was down near 60%, so that's definitely something to be thankful for.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. This includes asking or praising Him for victory in a sporting event.

God does not take sides. Neither does "fate." Go out and win it yourself.

I did not take Almu's post as an actual prayer, but as a spoof, and thought it was sorta funny. Not so sure about the breaking legs thing, but I got the humor.

If Almu was serious, I agree with Will 100%.

But, if he was joking, then we should lighten up ... ;) ... I assumed the Will Smith refererences made that obvious.

If you believe we are made in God's image, He's got a sense of humor too, and is big enough to handle playfullness.

The more honest prayer would be to ask that the Will of God be Done and may the best team win. :p

I am a christian and very involved w/ my church.
I do not care who knows it.

I do not have a problem w/ this.I found it humorous.

The part of the leg breaking seems to be more funny to impress people on this board rather than a serious prayer,...or so it seems.
And come on, it's not like any of us haven't thought about that.

I would, however, like to beat them while they are at full strength and we are obviously not.

I am not sure how God views sporting events. It's one of those things that He chose not to include in the Bible. So it's hard to pray about this when we are are all called to pray about everything, especially important in our lives.

I give Him full credit for the fact that Karl Malone never won a ring, and thank Him for it regularly. He is a just God.

    (Only partially kidding.)

I too believe there are Basketball gods...poly,,,not mono. For some reason or another, they always seem to want to teach us Rockets fans a lesson, though. They give us great draft picks then make us suffer for a long time afterwards.

I didn't read this as serious. The sporting world is the only place I can think of where it's harmless and fun to be fanatical. Ok, video games too. Any game that has no real consequence.

On the serious side though, if you thank God for willing your team to a win, you must then also blame him when your team loses. If we actually did this, there wouldn't be a theist left in Pittsburgh.

This was intended to be humorous. Not a religion debate.

Mojo. The gods. Whatever. Thats the intention.

Notice no capitalization anywhere to suggest that its a religious prayer.

Just because I sat in front of the tv clasping my two hands until I cut off my circulation and repeating "Please god, just let them win. Please god, let Okur break his big fat toe. Please god, let the Jazz Team get the flu"...my friends, I use my real prayers for other things.

Take is as humor. Because no matter what the stats say, we got a ton of breaks.

And YES, I do want god back on the Rocket Bandwagon!

    What? :D

Dude, in all your posts...I get the impression you take yourself a wee bit too seriously.

Lighten up. And if it was a waste of time, why read and post to let everyone know about how you feel?

THAT was a waste of time.

    Sherlock,

No disrespect to your religious belief. But I am a bit disappointed I am not the Will Smith I thought I would be.

Isn't the purpose of life to live large like Big Willie? :D

Yeah, some guys have all the luck, and he's certainly one of them. And, it'd be real nice if the Rockets got some during the playoffs ... ;) ... hopefully we didn't use it all up in the streak.

Ok...I'm sure you've got plenty of my posts to back that up with, right?

Because...it's a message board where people are supposed to post their thoughts...

Very funny, Almu! But it would be pretty creepy if Okur and Boozer both break their legs, wouldn't it? GREAT, mind you, but creepy nonetheless. :D

As for you whiners and complainers: You might want to pray to God, Allah, Buddha, Zeus, Trump, Hasselhoff or whoever you worship and ask for a sense of humor. Just sayin'.
