Well, he was carrying less weight than normal ... from the missing teeth! Seriously, I think I jumped about 2 inches higher than normal too, when he not only made the block but chased down the rebound. Play of the year!
Go Carl. Go Carl. It's your birthday. Go Carl. How can you not love him? I knew he would show up. As for the rest of the team did as well.
Me? Hate T-Mac? I'm just saying that last shot was bad. You can't deny that. I'm joking when I say T-Mac owes Landry a grill, but Landry saved T-Mac from looking REALLY stupid...
$5 mil contract for Landry just as as result if this playoff game alone. Reputations are built from the playoffs aka Bonzi Wells.
I would not have a problem with it but he still has serious injury concerns and with a missing tooth and a huge new bumpy shnoze, his endorsement deals might be a factor.
i'm glad someone pointed out that he didn't flop on the shot to the face. no flopping on my team, dude is a badass.
Thanks for all the kind words ya'll........ I am the LANDLORD.......and Carlos Boozers rent is due.........
didn't deke bust out Landry's grill in practice? this one he lost last night was just a bridge??? IDK...thought I heard Justice talkin about it awhile ago.
"your ass is mine boozer....................." <a href="http://s306.photobucket.com/albums/nn248/drcf_2008/?action=view¤t=DSC07639.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn248/drcf_2008/DSC07639.jpg" border="0" alt="carl landry"></a>
I am hoping this is the turning point for Carl defensively. I thought he was excellent defensively against the Boozer/DWill pick and roll in the 4th quarter. And his recovery just to block was sensational, not to mention the pogo stick rebound and toss to Scola. If..................Carl can continue to defend Boozer/DWill on that high pick and roll the way he did in the 4th, then we could defensively hinder Utah a whole lot more than we have in this series. Boozer has given up on posting up Hayes, it's obvious. He now just faces the basket and shoots over him, which I am fine with. I'll take Boozer shooting that 16 footer all day over him getting loose in the paint. However, if Carl is actually able to come in and help us defensively, then on the other end, it is going to make a huge difference for McGrady to have a target that he can throw the ball to down there that will either get the foul, or the dunk/layup, or both. Scola and Landry in there together is causing Utah problems defensively. (Dear Rafer: Force me to change my signature.)
Look at the play again. The recent one that Clutch uploaded. Kirilenko hooks Scola's arm to twirl him as a way to make it look like more contact. It's not enough to flop with .2 seconds. You have to make Scola fly from apparent contact, too. There's no doubt in my mind that Sloan teaches these tactics.
AK47 is the master of the arm lockups though. The same thing that was an offensive foul on TMAC, was called a foul on AK47 when he did it to Landry (when TMAC hit the jumper and Landry shot the AND1)
