Battier is one hell of tough player, thanks Battier, thanks for playing great defense even with those kind of pain...
towards the end of the game, it seems like his bruised foot which he sat two games late in the season for was reaggravated or something...so thats not lookin good to heal quickly
Battier has really been big in that series. He's played some nice defense but first of all it is his offense. He's been really consistent from the long range.
"I wouldn't say I'm a flopper," Kirilenko said, "but if I got fouled, sometimes I can pretend a little bit more than it happened."
I hope they just don't use Battier in the Utah series anymore. He really doesn't help us since they don't have a wing player that we need Battier for. I would want him COMPLETELY HEALTHY for a series against the Lakers. I would hope that we could use a combination of Head, Novak, and Landry as replacements for him.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not? Steve Novak. On AK47? He made him look like Kobe Bryant out there in Game 1, so yes, let's repeat that experiment!
Are you new to the sport? Regardless of them not having elite swingmen, we still need Shane Battier. He isn't the best one on one defender (although above average), but his help defense is one of the main reasons why the Rockets are so dam good in the league.
Battier is the unsung hero of this game and series. He is, on one foot, still an elite defender, total gamer, and competitor.
Shane played very well last night - made me proud, especially to see him play through his pain. I hope and pray that his ankle and foot are okay... looking forward to Saturday! BattiersBaby.
