I hope by playing in front of a national TV audience and seeing what it's like to be cheered in front of a huge crowd (not that he did anything to get cheered for) doesn't impact his decision to leave Houston. I believe he said something to the extent of my team doesn't get to play on NBC( national tv) or something to that extent. Also, he said that people all over got to see him play. Does anyone have any opinion on those statements?

Well, the only way I see Steve leaving is if the Rockets make some major personnel changes by trading some of his best friends on the team, namely Cat. And then the Rockets still suck after the changes. He wouldn't have any reason to stick around, and I wouldn't blame him for wanting to leave.

However, if the Rockets make changes that instantly make the Rockets a playoff team, even if it involves trading Mobley, then he'll probably stay.

And if the Rockets keep their team intact the way it is now, I think he'll stay too.

Maybe if Stevie wasn't out drinking all of the time, he wouldn't have headaches. When I go out until 4:00 AM I usually have a headache the next day. Did you see Francis jet out of the building IMMEDIATELY after the dunk contest? I imagine that he was going out with his east coast homies and, what do you know, he has a headache on Sunday.

Regarding Steve's statements, people don't come-out and watch one of the worst teams in the NBA that is just a simple fact of life. I am beginning to question Steve's drive to win championships as opposed to trying to make the highlight film every evening. That is why Barkley and Kenny were making fun of Stevie and Cat during the dunk contest and they deserve it.

There is a huge difference between supposition and conclusion, and you would be wise to make that distinction clearer for those who read what you have to say...

I thought he ran out of the arena after the tight dunk by richardson was because he knew it was over at that point...probably just being overly dramatic like him and Cat have a tendency to do.

JAG - I guess my comment is part supposition and part conclusion. It is a fact that Francis is known to go out drinking and his recent DWI is proof of this, whether he did so last Saturday night is anyone's guess. There are even recent pictures of Stevie out on the town on this board! Let's put it this way, if you have a very important business meeting the next day, would you go out on the town late night? I doubt it, because you would want to be at your best the next day.

I could be way off base by suggesting a link between drinking and Steve's headaches, but if I were CD I would be looking at it. Stevie has lots of talent and the Rockets are a much better team with him on the floor, but there are a lot of other players in the NBA that have talent. Leadership and desire set the talented players apart and this is where Steve needs improvement. It's difficult to be a leader when nobody knows if you are going to play from day-to-day and Francis' availability is becoming a big problem for the Rockets. Unless this is part of Rudy's strategy to get more ping-pong balls for the draft.

No, he just ran out of the arena like he had to go somewhere.

Why was Steve's shot counted as a 2 pointer when he was clearly behind the 3 point line? the score should have been 136-120.
