I'm also tired of "Wait till Yao and T-Mac are healthy..." Will that ever happen? It's hard to be patient when the slogan this year is: "It's time." Though Morey did pull some rabbits out of his hat last off-season, the future looks promising. I won't question any of his picks this off-season. Last off-season I was baffled why we chose a midget and also passed up on Big Baby. This off-season, I'll just shut up and trust his choices. Still, this season, injuries or not, it was second round or bust. We're going to need Clutch City Reincarnated to pull out this miracle. I've probably mentioned this before, but I think there was a stat where there has not been an NBA champion that was unable to get past the first round in the previous year. So basically, if we can't make a comeback NOW, championship ain't coming next year. Houston deserves better than what we've gotten these past years, but I'm sticking with them through thick and thin...
If we don't look forward to next year, what can we look for as a Rockets fans? Another team to cheer for? Not me. I believe in Morey.....
I'm pretty sure McGrady's years of missing a significant number of games is over. Hopefully he'll work on his athleticism a bit in the offseason and rewind the clock 2 years as far as his talent is concerned. We all can pray.
sad thing is that this was the year. just that yao ming went down and rafer not playing doesn't help either.
No, but it is time we as fans stopped worrying about next year and wait till this team is actually done.
one thing is for certain. next year better be the last time anyone says "next year", otherwise blow the t-mac and yao project up.
The diff between this year and other years: 1: we do not have bad contracts 2: our new coach and our new gm has proven records after this season 3: we have promising cookies in landry/scolar/brooks, they have the potential to be a rotation player in a champion team, while head/novak/jl3/hayes are not. 4: the west is in new order, spurs/suns/mavs are getting older and worse 5: I truest the management has learnt how to handle the load of tmac and yao, they would be extremely careful about their health. I believe.
what gets me are those 5 months of hell, with no basketball, which begins in may and ends around mid october. But I will never give up my faith! Jesus saved the world at age 33, hakeem did it at age 31.
ATLEAST WE GOT NEXT YEAR.. OTHER CLUBS LIKE THE BUCKS, SUPERSONICS, BOBCATS AND KNICKS ARE A LOTTERY TEAM FOR ATLEAST 2 TO 3 MORE SEASON.. IF YOUR TIRED OF "NEXT YEAR" QUIT BEING A FAN BECAUSE 50% OF FANSHIP IS WAITING FOR THAT NEXT YEAR.
He looked as good as ever at the beginning of this season. Dunks, quick drives, the jumper was falling. I guess those nagging injuries drain him because he turned back the clock 2 years during last summer then turned it forward 4 years during the season. Hopefully, he can stay healthy next year.
It could always be next year. That's just the way it goes. It's not like we are the only team that thinks next year is "the" year. A lot of teams who get to the 2nd round or conference finals...or even finals...say next year we should be much improved and progress farther into the playoffs. But, then, they don't make the playoffs next year or exit the first round. That's basketball. Unfortunately for the Rockets...our next year is all about just getting past the damn 1st round. No sense in looking past the 1st round...because we can't get past it thus far.
It's so frustrating to be a Rockets fan, definitely... "Next year, next year" Well, what about now!??? I keep the Boston Red Sox fans in mind so if they can hang with no world series for 1000 years or whatever then I can hang.
Cripes, the Morey era is just beginning! After this kind of regular season, you don't think the offseason in the Western Conference is going to be nuts? This was a pretty special season to watch regardless of the playoffs, for any number of reasons. I'm talking a crazy amount of unforgettable moments. Sitting in the lower bowl watching the Rockets beat down the Suns on Hakeem's monument night is something I won't soon forget. Every basketball season is a story. This story isn't bad just because we'd have preferred a different ending. So hell yes I'm ready for the next chapter. And I'm really pretty satisfied with the story thus far.
I already have my fill of "next year" mentality with the Cubs. It is alarming to me that it has begun to pick up steam here. I don't think I can handle having two of my teams using that philosophy especially when my NFL is the 49ers.
