The call against Scola was just horrible. To have a call like that(T-Mac was not even shooting and AK was not gonna have a play + he flopped) decide a playoff game at the end is a travesty a sham and a mockery its a traveshamockery. We did miss a bunch of free throws and layups and the Jazz have gotten to every loose ball in the series but that call was terrible. I say the NBA should assess that official a type 2 flagrant foul and suspend him without pay for a game or 7.
Oh man watching the replay again eel even worse, it was an abvious flop, Scola didn't push him, I think he just put a hand on Kirilenko's stomach. You can't call that a foul, you really can't. It was/is so tough cause Bobby made that 3 at the same time. I'm not afraid of saying : Refs WON that game.
i know we missed 10 FTs, but do you people series think every single team in the playoffs is going to make 100% of the free throws? granted we should of shot a much higher percentage, but that still wouldn't get us the win. If anyone doesn't think the refs were biased, then watch the last 6 to 7 mins of the game vs the rest of teh league's playoff games.
Sure did. A 5 point swing and we didn't have the time to recover. Yes, we put ourselves in a hole, shot ourselves in the foot, and every other damn cliché, but the refs absolutely sucked. What happened to home court? Imagine what playing in Utah is going to be like.
There should be a violation/penalty for flopping. I'm pretty sure the league can watch all the flopper videos and identify categories to make that call. I have never played in the NBA but in all my life playing basketball, I have never recalled myself or anyone I have played with and against fall clumsily to the ground as much as the Jazz has throughout their playoff history with the Rockets.
flopping is a regular thing. can't do anything about it. BUT the refs are horrible. they didn't call flagarent foul because it was a close game, then shouldn't they not have called that cheap foul? things like that, piss me off. refs are more inconsistant than rafer and tmac.
Huh? Bobby Jackson hit a game-tying 3 on that play....T-Mac didn't even have the ball. And the whistle blew as Jackson was shooting....it was a defended 3 that he hit. It was a terrible call that should never be made with 30 seconds left in a playoff game.....Tony Brothers is a piece of *****, and has been for a very long time. He is ALWAYS on the wrong end of calls....especially offensive fouls. The guy just doesn't believe that offensive players have a right to the space under the basket in rebounding situations. ***** Brothers, ***** Kirilenko, and ***** the Jazz.
that was a clear flop job to get a ticky tack call... you call that foul if Tmac takes the shot.. but not on the pass... Tmac got robbed of a triple-double
The Rockets blew this by putting them in a position where one call makes or breaks the game. The Refs blew that call, as they so often do when given an opportunity. Brothers should have known better, but if we don't put ourselves in that position, one call doesn't blow the game for you. Overall, the refs were better than last game, and probably as good as any in any other Jazz vs. Rox playoff series, but if you give them room to interpretation, the Jazz and their Play like you're strong, Flop like you're soft technique gets results. Always has. We all know that you can't expect things to go your way playing against them and just keeping it even and hoping for the best in the last couple of minutes. If you wanna take the refs off the Utah Jazz team, you gotta be up by a good margin going into the last couple of minutes. We weren't, we didn't hit free throws, we weren't hitting threes.... it's no surprise it ended as it did. I thought we played a better game this time around, but it wasn't enough. Plain and simple. I hold some hope, we showed we CAN play with them, and I don't think we've played a decent game yet, over all (60% fts, 0 threes, Battier not hitting, Scola playing sloppy and slow, how bout Luther not hustling on that loose ball?), and I hope that we show some heart in Utah, but basically if we don't play better than this, there will be plenty of blame for the rockets, refs, floppers... everyone. none of it matters really, except that you didn't get it done. At this point I'd just like to be proud of the way they played... win or lose. This one was better, but not what it needs to be.
Funny, I am sure that Sloan is happy as a lark that the Rockets players are blaming the officials rather than sitting back and trying to figure out how they can play better. Like, oh, hitting FTs, or layups or wide open 3pters. DD
It's hard to fully blame the refs for losing a game, but Tony Brothers decided to be a part of the outcome instead of letting the players completely settle the outcome. He fell for a flop in a playoff game with under 2 two minutes to go. That's not playoff quality officiating. On a side note, what can you do when Deron Williams continuously hits step back 3 pointers? I mean, you can't stop that. Plus, this Price kid has done nothing but hit perimeter jumpers off the dribble for god sakes. Where as our role players, which I overestimated, aren't able to make shots.
We need a team of floppers if we are going to go anywhere it seems. Scolas a good start. need more Devin Harris types.. bring in Divacs as a trainer, we already have his coach.
Leauge needs to do something with it, I'm all for 1 game suspention for being a floper. Everybody who flops deserves it.
please, someone who recorded the game, post the replay of kirilenkos flop on youtube, we need to be able to point it out
you know what IT WAS THE DAMN REFS THAT BLEW THIS GAME! seriously i can understand all the people on this board blaming it on the missed freethrows and what not. but thats a sorry excuse. The refs obviously have utahs back because who the Hell would call an offensive foul when scola was putting his arm out. its either A) AK is a P**** and a flopper, cause that was the sorriest flop i have ever seen when he got touched. he DRAMATICALLY threw his arms up in the air like he got hit by a bus or sumthing or B) like i said earlier the refs have utahs back. were at home, and its in the final minute of the game. it was away from the ball after TMAC threw the pass.If there was no call and the bobby made that three then we would of had the momentum. also there should be a rule about the basketball hitting the side of the backboard. that should be out of bounds. IF its out of bounds if it hits the top then why the hell wouldnt it be out of bounds on the side. it makes not sense. i seriously want flopping to be a fine penalty cause AK would get fined his whole contract for that sorry fine. and while there at it check tony brothers background. he is obviously betting too. also get off TMACS BACK. WE DONT HAVE 2 of our starters. and everyone thats already thinking this season is over needs to jump, not step off the bandwagon. cause we are getting skip back. and its a 7 game series not a best 2 out of 3 series. ok im done rambliing for now.
Ummm....In the game I watched, the Rockets got way more calls than the Jazz, leading to more free throw attempts even after the intentional fouls at the end. If y'all want to focus in on one call, have fun, but Utah should have shot more free throws than the Rockets last night and they didn't. If it makes you feel better though...
