There lies the problem with our team against good opposition.

We're not playing the Wolves and Hawks like we were during the streak, where Tmac can have off nights and we win by double digits. The Jazz is legit contender for the Finals in June, as much as it pains me to admit it.

We still need upgrades at various spots, because even with Yao and Alston, I can't say with confidence that we'll get to the second round.

He carried a bunch of scrubs vs Boston into overtime and scored 65 points.
go ahead name me some players on that 85 team that was any good.

    Olrando Woolridge? Dave Corzine? yeah..

And he lost the series. 1 superstar cannot take a series over a good team.

Jordan won with Pippen, Kerr, Rodman ... I would take that supporting cast over the Rockets' current one.

if you subtract Tmac and Yao, and replaced them with 1994 MVP Hakeem The Dream, what would the result be?

you would have a go to guy in the post for this serious, something sorely missed. It's not really a fair comparison.

now if you would have said replace him with 1995 Clyde Drexler...

    pmac,
the poster before me said that not even MICHAEL JORDAN would carry THIS ROCKETS team past the Jazz!

    hint hint hint

but its a FORGONE Conclusion that a MVP DREAM would have destroyed a shorter Boozer and soft Okur in the paint. they would have to double and triple with AK-47 to stop this guy.

...not to mention get some freaking rebounds too!

Hakeem would pass it out of the double team to a wide open Luther Head, who would promptly brick the 3. No '94 title.

Rafer has had a great year, and i don't see him as the problem, Agree with getting rid of Head/Hayes, as long as we keep Shane and Landry and find a decent backup for Tracy.

Nope. He was smarter than that. He'd hit an open Battier. Parade downtown to follow.

Yeah- - the Lakers were playing a crappy Nugget's team that barely squeeked into the playoffs...

Sorry. If Rafer isn't hitting threes (like Head), all he is good for is to bring up the ball out of the back court, after which he just makes an inbound pass to T-Mac or Yao. Do you see him really create off the dribble like D-Will, CP3, Nash? All he does is create ugly teardrop bricks.

Yao man up??? Yao played with a broken foot through who knows how many games this season. Last season, he played with no toe nail for most of the season. If any Rocket has "Manned Up" in the last few years for the Rocket's it's been Yao.

But I guess you expect a guy who was just told that he could stop using crutches a few days ago to jump right into an NBA game and play a solid 40+ minutes right? He's still wearing a freakin protective boot!

Yao's manning up just by being at the games. Where's Stevie Franchise??? Where's Skip??? Why aren't they there in suits supporting the team?

Yao's there b/c he want's to be. Sheesh- some guys never give him enough credit.

I think Magic Johnson knows a thing or two about the playoffs. I'll listen to his take on this one.

Yes. So crappy they're a whole 3 games behind the Jazz. It's ridiculous I tell you! How can one team suck so bad?

Honestly if we were playing the Nuggets the result would be just as bad. We just don't have the talent this time without Yao.

Oh and Magic Johnson should have a decent general idea of how playing hard is supposed to be, I mean after all he wasn't a legendary player for nothing...

I hope they put that in tomorrow's headline again. "Choked again!"
Then we roll and beat Utah 4-2.
