Deke's rebounds are nearly equivalent to any offense you might get. A rebound for an extra possession if you can convert it is two points. A rebound for a putback is two points. Never underestimate the value of a rebound.

defense assignments need to be adjusted also. DWill, Boozer, AK47 gave us the most trouble.

Battier guard DWill- Williams starts their offense, we need our best defender on him
TMac guard AK47- Tracy can play defense when he needs to, and he needs to right now
Deke/Hayes guard Boozer- We must contain him. With Yao out, that should be slightly easier.

Landry never recovered from his injury. It hurts him on both ends but especially on D. With his long arms and jumping ability he used to come in primarily as backup center because he could get high enough to affect shots. Since the injury he has been playing below the rim and has been terrible on D.

That's the reason Hayes comes in behind Deke. He could never play the 3. I'd rather see tmac there with Battier playing at the 4 so we can have some kind of quickness advantage on them.

So having problems with defense and scoring we should cut the minutes of our best defender that shot 100% from the field in game 1?

Chuck is not fit for this series because it allows Utah to double team and he gives us nothing on D. Forget about Luther and Chuck contributing this series, Sloan has taken them out of their game.

We need Hayes in there for a few series if nothing else but to lockdown his man. We got Hayes for fouling and yes he needs to foul his man. NO LAYUPS!!

Chuck seems like he should be one of the best options we have for guarding Boozer.

Chuck is too a fit. You've got to put him with the starters and let him play the high post. If I were Rick Adelman, the adjustment I would make for game 2 would be to start both Chuck and Brooks, have Chuck play at the high post offensively and make him the post passer and screen setter, and spread the floor for both Brooks and McGrady to operate. Then you bring BJax off the bench with Luther and Deke for the 2nd unit. If Rafer is healthy, bring him with BJax and Luther on the perimeter, Deke in the middle, and run Utah all the way back to Salt Lake.

It doesn't matter if Landry fouls or not. We are going to have to give as much as we get. Fouls are part of the game and hard fouls are what the Jazz are giving us so we gotta give it right back. If Landry picks up 3 quick fouls, then put in Hayes and foul some more. Look the refs are not going to foul out your entire team.

Then we have the super awesome line-up of:

    Point Forward: T-Mac
    SG: Shane
    SF: Landry
    PF: Scola
    C : Deke

    We would dominate!!!!

Let's put Deke on Deron Williams, surely he'd block all his shots.

I think Game 1 was lost partial to player not making the shots (bjax, brooks), second the coach, Adelman not willing to test new things out.

Watch the Spurs vs Suns game, Spurs were down by 16 pts and won by overcoming two overtimes. One of which which coach pop drawn a play to have Duncan shooting a 3. A big gamble and a wise coaching decision.

Similiar situation in Game 1 for Rox, but we were unable to the seek the advantage of foul trouble Utah was in with Boozer and Okur.

We should of have playing take it into the paint and draw contacts. Brooks started doing it in the last quarter, whcih we should start doing that in the beginning.

i see us winning game 2, and I am not panic on losing the first game. this may be a blessing in diguise.

Battier isn't the point. Everybody knows what he brings to the table. The point is trying to find a way to inject some scoring in our otherwise anemic and predictable offense. What are the odds Battier shoots 100% in a game ever again? Battier is a glue guy. We need another weapon out there.

Utah's best players are at PG and PF. He can't guard either of those guys. Despite AK's big night their most dangerous perimeter player is Korver. His shooting is nothing short of back breaking. At the very least I want Battier chasing him around with a hand in his face. No more try to play Novak, Luther and whoever on him. We have enough to worry about with DWill and Boozer. If Battier can't guard either of those guys we should at the very least match his minutes with Korver's. Agree?
