What's our biggest problem? We can't score. We need our best scorers to be out there so Landry absolutely HAS to see more time.

I think we should experiment with playing Landry at the three. Think about it: Utah doesn't have a dominant wing player (AK's big night was a product of us sagging off/not respecting him). Giving Landry minutes at the three is feasible since normally neither Brewer or AK are going kill you when facing their starters and Landry is perfectly capable of matching Harpring's physicality off of the bench.

Landry and Scola both have the mid-range game to play the PnR with T-Mac. We could try that approach, let Deke clean up the mess down low and have Rafer, Brooks, B Jax or whoever wait for kick outs.

Another adjustment i'm thinking is having Battier hound Korver. As I mentioned, Utah lacks the typical 20 PPG wing player we're used to facing and having Battier cover. If we have Battier chasing and harrassing him he's less likley to kill us with his outside shooting. That little rat was hitting every shot he took, we simply can't allow that.

Any thoughts or what adjustments would you make?

So basically Landry subs in for Battier at 3?

McGrady's lack of D is what worries me. If he had any 2005 Dallas series defense still in him I wouldnt worry about what holes Battier needs to plug up. But that was then...

Korver's 3 are killer. He's got that quick release only elite defenders can time right. The Battier hand-over-the-face trick might work a little

    Scola
    Landry
    Battier
    Tmac
    Brooks

is the lineup that needs to be out there. I am sick of bjax jacking up so many shots

Landry at the 3 = 3 fouls in 10 minutes or less.

I think the refs would have him on the bench quickly if he was put on a swing man. I also thought he looked pretty bad last night. I'm not sure he can score consistently against this Jazz team.

Landry at the 3, Scola at the 4, Deke at the 5. T-Mac plays shooting guard and let freaking any guard who's got it going on play the 1. Man we suck at guard position.

I was thinking cut Battier's minutes. Try to match his minutes with Korver's. Let Landry/T-Mac handle AK, Brewer or Harpring. Those guys are decent players but I don't think it's necessary to have one of the best defenders in the league covering one of them and playing 40+ minutes a night.

Well...Landry really hasn't been the same since the injury. I think we should just stick with him playing the four. But Mike Harris on the other hand, would be a good matchup for Harpring. He's just as strong as Landry and he does have the ability to drive and power his way to the basket just like a 3. Also, Harpring is the type that'll get physical and always push first; Harris has that toughness to take that and push back even harder.

Guarding Korver just needs someone to trail him once he steps past half-court. He was Novak's man for two possessions and Steve just let him hang around on the outside. Shane isn't needed to guard him; whoever is guarding him just needs to follow him on the three point line. Korver won't shoot it over a defender whose contesting and he can't make plays off the dribble. As long as someone stays within 3 feet of him, he's no threat.

According to Adleman's last interview, he's going to extend Battier's minutes. Not cut them. He thought Battier played well and got off a lot of good shots for 3 ptrs. He wants more offensive production out of Battier.

That being said, Put Scola, Landry and Deke together for a few minutes out there. Why not? Try it!!

They did during the winning streak but for some reason Hayes is now backing up Deke...and it is NOT working.

Let Landry play his midrange game. Dude has a good 15-18 foot shot.

Give Deke some credit, man. He played nearly 30 minutes last night and outplayed a guy that was an All-Star last year. The best part aside from his stellar play is I don't think Utah's figured out how to expose him yet. Let's hope that never happens.

Deke was pulled at the wrong time last night. Clearly we had momentum after that monster block. That was a dumb coaching decision.

I would like to see Harris in there as well. Landry doesn't look right and I think having him chasing a SF is going to make him look even worse.

It's really time for some smash mouth ball and Harris has the build and the tenacity for it. I don't want dirty plays but if this team goes down I want Utah stepping into the next round bloodied and sore. They damn sure better know they were in a fight.

With Yao out, we can't afford Scola to get in to foul trouble. Thats why he play along, Mutombo and Hayes so they can pick fouls and play defense.

Maybe havening both along Hayes or Mutombo with Landry at the 3. but them our spacing on offense will be bad.
