It looks like Delonte West is staying a Cav or at least too expensive for the Rockets this free agency.
NOOO NOOOO NOOO WAY!!! DALONTE IS GARBAGE!! Didn't you see him in today's game? He sucks, anything we have is better
I don't think we need a PF. Scola has developed into a pretty darn good PF player. He does things that normally other PFs CAN'T DO!! And people said he can't rebound...NOT SO....he's now out jumping people for the balls and seem to have a knack for the ball...so i don't think it's problem. I bet on Scola intangibility and a will to win more than ANY player that the Rox can get out there...yes EVEN BRAND!! The ROX need to get a legit decent PG like Harris or Arenas...someone that can be a force in the PG position. And i think it's time to deal TMAC.....you know it's just not working anymore with his streak shooting. He can be hot and cold but that's about it. DEAL TMAC for Baron Davis and someones else...
I think everyone except yao can be traded if there is a chance to improve our team's battle effectiveness. To be frank,Tmac is not a superstar who can dominate a game anymore, and Yao is in his golden age which will not be a long time,he is becoming older and older,he has little time to lose ,if we want to do something right now,we need big changes on the current lineup.
Morey needs to improve the team with one player and one player only who can: shoot at a very high clip, has length (no midgets), play defense on the 1,2,3 effectively, assist a little, rebound a little from the guard spot, handle the ball, and sign for a non massive contract (mle money). Ya'll know who that mystery free agent is? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2373
If he isn't being shopped this offseason, he will be halfway through the 2008-09 season when the Grizzlies are slumming it through another lottery year and are looking to cut salary. That's the guy the Rockets need to be looking at acquiring with the B-Jax, Francis, and Head contracts. As much as I'd love to get a quality starting PG in here, I don't know who can be had for a reasonable price(either through free agency or trade). Mike Miller shot 50% from the floor this year and 43% from 3-point land on a terrible Memphis team. Imagine how he'd do with Yao and T-Mac drawing all the defenders. Plus he's played with both T-Mac and Shane so you don't have to worry about chemistry issues. If the Rockets could get Miller for expiring contracts and keep the rest of their lineup healthy, they'll have the best record in the West next season.
I agree with this. Off this list I'd say Elton Brand is our best option but would not want to give away Landry or Scola to get him. Would rather have a stud point guard.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think some serious consideration should be given to Ron Artest. Hopefully, it's just the cream soda talking, and I'll snap out of it in a few hours.
Artest is opting out of his coutract. We wouldn't have to give up anything to get him if Les Alexander is willing to go over the luxury tax Probably it means getting rid of some good young talent in Landry/Brooks/Harris.
The starting lineup would be the same: C - Yao PF - Scola SF - Battier SG - T-Mac PG - Alston The primary backups would be: PG - Brooks SG - Miller SF - Novak PF - Landry, Hayes, Harris C - Deke(or a replacement if he retires) Miller could swing between the SG and SF positions when T-Mac and Battier each need to rest. There would be 2 or 3 reliable 3-point shooters on the floor at all times. Tell me that team doesn't win 55-60 games easily if healthy.
I haven't heard anything about Artest opting out, but if he does he's probably wanting to go to the New York Knicks.
He's not going to another losing team. If the rox had him right now even with yao being injured, the rox would be a threat. Yao comes back nxt season and we're talking a legit title contender.
no way do you put a healthy miller behind battier, all battier is really good at is defense, if he came off the bench, he would be much better with his energy level
