Did anyone catch this fight? I thought Calzaghe looked real good. I am tired of seeing Bernard "Three punches a round" Hopkins manage to beat people.

I watched most of it. I was flipping between the Rockets, the fight, and the UFC.

Calzaghe was busier and landed more punches. Hopkins dropped him in the 1st and rocked him a couple of times.

Did you see the "low blow" where Hopkins took like 4 minutes to recover. :D
Instant replay showed no punch, but he faked it and took the time to rest.

He has nobody to blame but himself for this loss. If he would just throw more punches and be the agressor, he probably could have had a KO and ended things early.

Hopkins was robbed -- most scored it 114-113 in his favor. Chasing a guy around and slapping him for 12 rounds (being active) should not give Calzaghe a win after being dominated.

I don't see how you could score this fight for hopkins. He had that one knock down punch, and another big punch near end of the bell in the later rounds that almost knocked calzaghe down. Other than that I don't remember Hopkins doing anything other than walking back into a corner or faking for a timeout.

Shut him up, why? Hopkins is the one who needed to be shut up, especially after that racial vitriol he spewed the day before that Mayweather - Hatton fight back around Christmas time.

    Here's hoping for a Pavlik/Calzaghe matchup.

Bernard lost the fight, easy. The guy didn't even show up. He phoned it in after the 1st round.

Atleast they could match up Taylor with Calzaghe, that would be a good one. Calzaghe doesn't have the power to hurt Taylor.

Whats up with those stupid looking over hand arching punches that Joe throws? He punches like a girl.

calzaghe has been talkin smack for years now, but he's never wanted to fight in the US. he's always claimed that hopkins was ducking him, which was simply not the case. Hopkins didnt want to go to Wales to fight. he was the undisputed middleweight champ....why should he have to go to wales? joe calzaghe has been talkin smack ever since.....

I missed the fight, but I'm not surprised b-hop lost. he's been the type of fighter to do just enough to win many of his fights. the main exception to that, imo, being vs winky wright. then again, wright was never going to make it a fight, so b-hop had to be the aggressor or curl up in the corner and take a nap. against calzaghe, I'm sure he simply got outworked.

figt I'd like to see? calzaghe v pavlik. I don't believe pavlik has the technical skill to dismantle an unorthodox calzaghe. he DOES however, have the power and it'd be an interesting fight to watch. taylor might be an even better fight, but I don't know if taylor would be aggressive enough to combat joe.

if only miguel cotto were bigger...*sigh*..what a fight that would be. calzaghe's bunny rabbit bouncing and overhand slap flurries vs miguel's brutal body lows and warrior style...wow.
