is by far THE guy in this draft. I know that we have Steverino and Cat already, but this guy is too good to be true. I wouldn't pass on him with the #1 pick. I say trade Cat for something good and draft Jason. I think Mobley is worth a top 10 pick. So I think the Rockets should draft Jason Williams if they are lucky enough to get him and trade Mobley for 3 or a 5. PG Williams SG Francis SF how bout Doug Christie PF Griffin C anybody but Cato
If you get sick of Moochie and Cat hogging the ball, then you are asking for a deathwish with JW. JW will be a good player, but he will not win a damn thing in the NBA. He will be Stephon Marbury all over again.
If I had a point guard and had the #1 pick this year, I would be milking it to every team in the NBA in dire need of some sort of point guard, especially those with high draft picks and/or high-caliber big men. Of course, if I were the Rockets, I'd take Jason Williams. But he'd only be in a Rockets cap as long as it took to find another draft pick and a good center or combo forward. Just not what the Rockets need.
Jason Williams is completely overrated, I'd do the same thing that mfclark stated, pick him and trade him to the highest bidder.
Oregon PG Luke Ridnour would be a better fit for the Rockets. Assuming we still have Francis and Griffin around. Williams is not enough of a true PG for my liking. He is the best finishing college PG I've ever seen.
Don't forget Francis didn't play for the Grizzlies because they already had a PG and he didn't want to play SG. Do you think he'd change his mind now? Instead you could draft Williams and trade him for a young, established player.
Um, I don't know if I agree with this at all. A guy who wins possibly two national championships in college is not going to be able to win in the NBA???? How do you figure? Remember that game where he single-handedly beat Maryland with one minute left in the game and down by what was it, twelve? I know the NBA and NCAA are different, but basketball is basketball. I think its safe to say that the guy knows how to win.
I just love how Mike Dunleavy is "aided" by playing around great players, and he only wins because of that. While Jason Williams apparently is a one-man team. Take Williams off of Duke, and Duke still is probably the best team in the nation. Danny Manning was a one-man team for KU in 1988. John Wallace was a one-man team for the Cuse in 1996. Shall I go on?
No, no, no. You're arguing with the wrong guy about Dunleavy, I think Dunleavy's great! Although I think your claim that Duke is still the best team in the nation without Jwill could be slightly exaggerated. I can say Duke would not have won last year without him. I've been a huge Duke fan ever since I tried to model my game after Bob Hurley back in middle school, and Duke has never even been close to a one-man team. But come on! Jwill is a guy who has made a habit out of winning. He's a great performer in the clutch, has been well-coached, has a good head on his shoulders, has unbelievable strength, is extremely quick, has a nice shot, can finish around the basket, plays tough defense, plays with emotion, etc... Like I said, I don't see how you can predict he will not be able to win in the NBA. That's all I'm sayin'.
I hate Duke. I swear they get all the slack in the world. They would be number one if their starting five were all paraplegics and their bench was full of quadriplegics.
That's where you are wrong. There's another Williams who would help Duke win, that's KU coach Roy Williams.
