http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24183188>1=43001 Additional information about stress and depression affecting US Soldiers.
its really interesting and shocking, since this is the first "internet age" war that has been fought, to see and what we're seeing that previously was only whispered about in wars past. if anyone didn't think this stuff happened in wars, in all eras, and by all nations... they are fooling themselves.
lol. Eff Iraq . . . Eff Iraq . . . Eff Iraq. I don't see anything wrong. It's just boys being boys. Nothing but a little harmless fun. Stay the course. You're security depends on it. Vote McCain 2008.
This type of messing around with foreigners is actually pretty common and has been going on for a LONG time. I don't want to make this a partisan argument, but I have found it is mainly a lot of leftist people who have no idea what war is like that are always surprised and shocked by this stuff. "Oh my God, the soldiers are messing around with the locals!? This is egregious!" You're gonna have soldiers messing around and doing stupid stuff when they are 18-22-year old kids! We don't trust them to be mature enough to drink beer, but we have no problem giving them a gun and telling them to go kill people? That should tell you something. And let's be real, a lot of the guys on the front lines weren't exactly classroom geniuses; a lot of them are just very patriotic guys with a lot of testosterone that want to shoot people (I've found a lot of people are shocked by this fact too).
This is complete bs. From before the war started "leftist people" had a much more realistic idea of what it means when a country goes to war. They know that the stress of combat causes many soldiers (no matter what country they come from) to cruelly act out and getting crowds of Iraqi children to chant F' Iraq is the least of it. That is one of the reasons going to war should be a last option. It is the wingnuts who have a pollyanna vision of war, where US soldiers can do no wrong and the grateful locals throw candy and flowers at the feet of their conquering saviors. The difference between left and right on this is that once their is incontrevertible proof of abuse that the the wingnuts cannot deny they start making excuses, while people on the left want to see some accountability.
Agreed, the left understood that if you are trying to lessen the # of people in a culture that hate us, you should probably not go to war.... To answer the question in the video 'was the sheep herder al qaeda?'..... well no, but he probably is now
" I'm in a world of Sh**!" what about the civilians that have to endure the psychological agony of warfare? At least the soldiers are getting paid.
Oh noes, they made fun of people for not speaking English. Pull out now before another kid starts chanting that he loves pork.
One of my points was, it isn't the stress of war that causes a lot of soldiers to do a lot of this type of stuff. It's immaturity and a means of entertainment for them. I guarantee you that they didn't get the Iraqi children to chant out "F Iraq" because of the stress of war, but because it was funny to them.
It is not fun to have little boys run for more than 2-3 blocks for a drink of water, or shoot an innocent sheap hurdler, how about the ill kid being called ugly or the puppy that was thrown over the clif fr no reason. The soldiers have to understand that they represent the United States of America in these foreign soils andthey have to treat the people with decency. We have an image problem all over the world about being Hypocrite bullies wanting to take weapons from others while building more, wanting to clean the air and we refuse to participate in the cleaning, having the best democratic society and not really offering it to others and this is not helping.
That's pretty disgusting imperialistic behavior...but then I guess all soldiers in foreign lands start acting like douchebags

I don't know what the rules are for dealing with looters in Iraq. I do know that the fact that the guy was a taxi driver makes zero difference. If they are authorized to crush looters cars, then they were in the right, if they are not authorized to crush looters cars, then they were wrong. I guess the accents didn't tip you off, but those are British troops. Also, throwing rocks at people is dangerous, and those kids deserved an ass kicking.
