Hey guys it looks like I wont be able to make it to either game 1 or 2 this year. You have no idea how much this really pisses me off. Its not that my schedule (which did have restrictions on it) that stopped me actually but the cost of the plane ticket. For some reason all the flights in and out of houston this weekend to next friday are all ridiculously expensive. The cheapest nonstop flight (and actually cheapest overall too) I found was 740 bucks from LAX from saturday to wednesday. Thats more than twice as much I was expecting to spend. I usually spend about 220 for my roundtrip ticket I expected around 350 with the gas prices and all, not 740 heck the airlines i usually take was 1030 for a round trip ticket.

I am sooo pissed right now no idea I cant put it into words. I feel like crying but wont I was looking forward soo much to coming back to houston for the playoff games and to play against the jazz.

what sucks about it I couldnt take advantage of any of the early bird sales since well the schedule wasnt released till last night and the first game is saturday.

I am going to be a total ass today at work to anyone who talks to me

    /end rant

Looks like my streak will stay at 18 until next season..... :( :(

Sorry to hear that man, I know Carlos ran into the same problem, suck big time and makes no sense as to why the plane tickets are so costly right now.

There are several reasons why the plane tickets are high right now, AA and all their recent plane issues, Delta and Northwest merger, etc, but I feel your pain Yoyo. I had to cancel my plans as well but for different reasons.

My suggestion is to call a travel agent and see if they can get you cheaper tickets. Sometimes they can.

Have you considered using an alternative airline like US Airways or SW Airlines? Also, if you haven't already, try looking on Orbitz.com just to be thorough. Good luck.

Never mind! He's right. I just looked on Orbitz and I nearly fainted! Maybe you should give Cheaptickets.com a look.

REALLY? hmm i will check that out but i have to be in LA sat morning till at least 9am the earliest flight out i can take is 11. my dad is turning 60 and in my culture we have a little ceremony for that and we are doing it early sat morning and it should end at 9. would give me about an hour to get to the airport (LAX) and check in.

oh yeah and if anyone wants to buy me a plane ticket i wouldnt mind that I know some of you folks have more than extra cash to spare :D

edit: i saw that deal yeah they wont reveal the times or anything after you pay, cant risk that what if i end up leaving at 6am i cant make that flight or worse yet i leave at like noon but have a 4 hour stop over somewhere and actually make it to houston after game 1 ends?

not sure if that would be an option i have no idea how far other cities are to houston and all. and if that would make a difference in price i'll check into that.

what are some of the other cities near houston that have airports?

For whatever reason airfares have skyrocketed, like The Yo_yo said Continental right now has their fares set at $1030 flying out of LAX on Saturday. Just makes no sense as the plane is half empty so I'd figure they are trying to fill up the plane and lower their fares but that's not the case. Was hoping to make it out for the playoffs again but oh well, it's really out of our control

i am sure you can find playoff tickets i spent a total of 100 dollars for my 3 tickets, they are nosebleeds but i dont care where i sit when i am in houston.

there are a lot of tickets for sale around 30-40 bucks thats not too bad.

i am just so furious right now....there could be only one possible way for me to go but its really iffy right now, really iffy (more of a work schedule issue)

    Pony up, folks!

If you can find an airport within a 3 hour drive, I'd pick you up.
