Does anyone here play this game ? I just picked it up yesterday and have only played for a couple of hours. Wondering if anyone had some tips for a newbie
I bought it. On a huge map the thing starts to crawl after a while. I didn't think it was that much better than Civ 2.
I have it. Not as good as I'd hoped. Civ 2 was utterly fantastic. Civ 3 is a modest improvement. I bought Eu2 as well, and have played that much more.
I'm not sure I like all that much either.I was hoping for something more like Age of Kings,my favorite game,but with a faster pace.It's certainly not fast paced.How long would it take to advance this thing up to the space age ? I just played for about 2 hours and didn't get anywhere...it was kind of like the 5th grade,some guy asking for all my lunch money and then beating the snot out of me cause I say no.
LOL! Exactly. You kinda hope you never encounter anybody until you've actually built some stuff up, then when you've built up about 5 cities you find out every civilization has amassed about 20 cities, are annoyed with you, and have surrounded you. If you like Age of Kings, get Empire Earth... it's the same thing but on a bigger scale,with 3D graphics, and more units. It's made by one of the original guys that developed Age of Empires.
I bought Civ III at EB the day it came out . . . I returned it 3 days later. It wasn't bad, but it really wasn't spectacular or anything like that . . . more of the same as before.
