ran across this term in a blog post- googled it, lots of hits, but no definition, no entries at wikipedia, urban dictionary, etc... any one heard it, or can use it in a sentence?
Never heard of it, but I'd guess that it's the people and/or ideas associated with right-wing blogs (or the blogs themselves), derived from "dextro-" and "blogopshere". Not to be confused with "sinestrosphere" -- HuffPo, Kos, etc.
from http://listserv.linguistlist.org/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0512c&L=worldwidewords&P=96 SINISTROSPHERE This has started to appear online as a disparaging collective term for bloggers with left-wing political affiliations. Its opposite is the dextrosphere, a sweeter-sounding and much less sinister term. Both words are based on "blogosphere", a collective term for the whole blogging environment. [My thanks to Barry Popik and Ben Zimmer for these references.] Lemme keep looking though...
yeah its probably right wing blogs in the old days right handed people were considered dexterous and left handed people sinister no?
In Italian: destra = right sinistra = left I assume that is the source of the prefix. Some enterprising right-winger decided the Italian prefixes would make left-wingers sound evil.
