I personally love the WAMU I bank at. Even when I am residing out of state, and I have to make a larger transaction I always wait and do it at my local branch in Houston.
I bank at WAMU. I have a WAMU credit card. Recently, my 3 year old dropped two bills behind the back of my desk. I discovered them and paid them...but they both arrived 2 days late. The first was a gas card....I called them...explained the situation..no problem. Waived the late fee...cool. No issues. WAMU waived the late fee reluctantly...but raised the interest rate 5%...because I was 2 days late for the first time ever. Please. I told the rep and his supervisor I would be moving all of my accounts from WAMU and shutting down the credit card. Ridiculous move on their part. I'm thinking Bank of Texas is where I'm heading.
Okay. I think after our CDs mature we will look into a credit union. Anyone recommend theirs? USAA is only for people in the military, right? My bro brags about it all the time.
Did Wamu give you the $450 in 20's or 50's? I prefer 20's, but those fools at the bank always give me my money in 50's. It is somewhat of a hassle to correct them everytime.
It's okay, mom lives far off in Geneva.....and going by the other thread, this girl don't even wear a Swiss Watch
Wow this thread took a turn.... I believe USAA is now eligible for anyone though from what I heard their service and everything everyone loved about them previously has gone downhill. As for a CU it depends on where you live they are pretty much just local.
Ummmmm ....where did you get that info? Whoever you heard that from is full of it and doesn't know what they are talking about. http://bwnt.businessweek.com/interactive_reports/customer_service/ Also, membership is only available to enlisted military personnel and their dependents. Its not open to anyone and probably never will be. Really? I'm sorry to hear about your experience -- I've actually had the BEST banking experience (of the 3 banks I've been with) with Wamu. I used to be with Compass in Houston, and they were alright, but I got into overdraft hell once, and they were not helpful in the least. Then when I moved to Pittsburgh I was with Citizens Bank (which is called Charter One in some other places). They were alright, but they hit the ATM fees HARD. They did have one branch open on Sunday though, which was nice. And now after moving to Chicago, I switched to Wamu, and I've had nothing but positive experiences. Great, easy online banking. Fantastic service when I've been into a branch. It's really been an easy, no-hassle experience for me. The only thing that would be nice (here in CHI) is more ATMs. But even that isn't too bad, since they don't charge ATM fees. I will say though, I am a VERY low-maintenance customer for pretty much everything. I have never called customer service, I've never disputed anything, etc. For me, I like services I don't have to be too concerned with -- I just set them up and never worry about them. And Wamu's been the best about that so far. I think that since their online banking is way better than Compass' or Citizens' was, that probably really does it for me.
