So I guess because he lost 3 times on one of the worst teams in NBA history (was the best player on the court on either side - no question), once when he was 19 on the Raptors (was the best player in the playoffs for his team then), once to the Mavs on the Rockets (if I said anything here it'd be redundant), and once to the Jazz (remind me, who outside of McGrady showed up on game 7?) it's on him. That's what I thought.

He hasn't CHOKED in any of those series; unless you're just hating you can't pin it on him.

Next year is not a contract year for McGrady.

Dirk has reached the nba finals....
I was one of those who defending Mcgrady non stop.... I was one of those who would always say that he had no help in the playoffs.... However after so many tries, isnt a player bound to get lucky and win ONCE??? And there is also a trend.... He always does bad in game 7s.... He may score 25+ pts, but his fg% is atrocious...

People are going to find out how bad he is in the playoffs.......watch...though there will always be the excuse of Yao not playing.

If he has a strong season next season he'll probably opt out for one last big contract. People don't realize that he's still young.

Really? 12 for 25 was atrocious last year?

Do you want me to go through every single game 7 in his career?

Ok, that doesn't change what he did in the past. We have way more bench scoring this year than last that can make up for Yao's absence. Sure it would be better if we had him, but we don't.

T-Mac is historically phenomenal in the playoffs, he just lays a ton of eggs in regular season this way. Look up his box scores before you talk trash.

Ya, I remember the manic season Mcgrady had last year.... The stretch without Yao really helped him.... but he went down back to earth during the playoffs.... This season, he has no business as an mvp candidate.... Some journalists rank him in the top 10, but mainly because they are dumbfounded on how the Rockets won 22 games in a row.... other than that, what has he done that warrents him in the discussion... He is not a top 10 player anymore.... top 10 player dont score 22ppg on 36% shooting for their last 10 games
