NugzFan what do you think of this trade?

    Denver trades:

PG Nick Van Exel (21.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 8.2 apg in 38.9 minutes)

    GS trades:

PG Larry Hughes (14.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 5.3 apg in 32.5 minutes)
SF Cedric Henderson (2.5 ppg, 0.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 6.0 minutes)
    C Adonal Foyle (4.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 0.5 apg in 15.2 minutes)

    TRADE ACCEPTED

    You guys could start:

    C - Foyle
    PF - Lafrentz
    SF - Wahad
    SG - Hughes
    PG - Johnson

When McDyess comes back you just move Foyle to the bench and move Lafrentz back to C. Gives you some shot blockers in Foyle and LaFrentz plus someone with big upside in Hughes.

If Denver would send Raef along with Nick:
    Apporx. $14 million in salary

    and take back

    Cato, Rice and Toronto's #1
    Approx $14 million in salary

    Would you do it?:D :D :D

I don't think there is any chance that Denver would, but sometimes it nice to fantasize.:)

No Nick, No Nick, No Nick, No Nick, No Nick, No Nick, No Nick!!!

He is the biggest jacker. I love to watch him play when he is hot, but when he is OFF the whole team is in the gutter.

No thanks we already have Mobley, Mooch and Francis :D

    Cato
    Griffin
    Mobley
    Van Exel
    Francis

San Antonio could use some more fire power at the guard spot and its not far from his home here.

We don't want NVE. We DON'T. What NVE needs is to be on a team where everyone's a better player, like Portland. Then he can't whine.

He's talented, but the attitude more than makes up for it.

I thik we should find a way to trade Mooch and KT to Chicago for Oakley right now. He's willing to come off the bench, willing to teach, and willing to push the players (not physically, lol). he is NOT a cancer. He's not whining about being traded, Krause has said he hasn't demanded it, and I thikn he just wants to win more. This is a perfect situation. KT's gone anyway, we might as well make some cap space out of him and Moochie.

    Oakley + Ollie or Anthony + FUTURE first-rounder for KT + Moochie + Langhi(throw in) + 2nd rounder

Without Steve Francis, the Rockets' record has been dismal.

Obviously, you have to take note that Moochie Norris did win a few games for the Rockets. OK.

But Moochie Norris isn't a starter.

I think making a move to acquire Nick Van Exel from the Denver Nuggets is an upgrade from having Moochie Norris.

The migraine problem is serious if it continues. Van Exel would be insurance.

The question is -- who would Denver have to take from the Rockets that be worth Nick Van Exel?

Anyone but Eddie Griffin or Steve Francis.

I say, go for Nick Van Exel now, and then even Antonio Mcdyess.

The Rockets might not make the playoffs anyway.

Like the previous poster suggests but doesn't out and out say, I would take Van Exel if the cost was moochie and Walt or something of that magnitude. Essentially if VE was replacing Moochie. He is an upgrade to the Big Haired one.

BUT, he would be a backup guard and would have to understand that. He would not be a starter. With our propensity for 3 guard offenses, he would get a ton of playing time, but he would not, should not start.

He is young enough to provide a vet influence on these guys for several years. And if what someone is saying is true, he has matured in his game, I think he would be a very nice person to have on this team. He would love playing with our guys, I am sure.

The big thing in any deal for him is we do not NEED him, so we should pay what is right for us (ie Walt and Mooch), not necessarily what would be a fair offer for Denver. They can probably get a lot more than we would offer.

To address something else mentioned in this thread, maybe I am crazy or just blinded by my Rockets loyalty, but I would not trade Cato straight up for LaFrenz. And I really hope at this point we do not trade him at all. I know the attitude is a problem, but all signs there are positive lately and if the attitude is OK, his game fits this Rockets team as I see the future vision being to an absolute T. He has shown me enough that unless I was absolutely bowled over, I do not want to deal him for at least another year. I know I am crazy, but I really like the defensive possibilities long term of having Cato and Griffin as our starting frontcourt.

Dfbreyes, would you include Mobley in a trade for Van Exel? I wouldn't even though he is more talented then the Cat.We can't afford to weaken the SG spot, moving Steve there will make us even smaller.I don't think we have the right players to get Van Exel although he would be an upgrade from Moochie, but he would hate to be a backup point guard to Francis.

They call him nick the quick, but the truth is regardless he is one of the best guard that is available, but he is known as problem child on any team he goes and besides we are loaded on that position and I' m sure RT & CD are not that stupid to pursue on Van Exel.
