When playing with females the most relaxed game involves being blind sided with a barrage of nut flinching box outs. You think a game of 21 is for warm-up? No sir not to females. Box outs ensue. When visualize playing basketball I think about things like a hesitation crossover with a pull up j when the defender is off balance. Women, I believe, visualize the footwork and hip thrusting action needed to execute their next unsuspecting box out.
In sum, when boxing out is needed in 21 it is time to shoot up for team captains.

Not too long ago in Austin they tried this experiment. An overweight morning radio host said basically he would not lose to a girl -- he was joking, but a UT women's team member accepted the challenge. They played one on one and she lost pretty bad -- it was on the news as one of those upbeat humor stories to end the newscast. I can't remember her name or if she is good enough to move on to the WNBA.

Is it two handed touch? Cause I RULE at 2 handed touch against girls.

I especially like "Two anywhere" because "two below" is just too easy.

Man, nothing like a WNBA thread to bring out the middle school student in all of us. How can the women on this board put up with us?

Because I can beat them all in a game of 1 on 1?

Just whip it out and they'll stay away.

This reminded me of the Chapelle skit where the homeless dude terrorizes the bus with his schlong

I would say yes if 3's weren't allowed. Because then she would just rain on me.

A women's pro team at best could give a bad 5A boys team a game. They would get run by any men's team above 5A - NAIA, NJCAA, NBDL, etc. etc. lets not even go to NCAA, at any level.

I've played against guys and girls with all different levels of game and I have to agree with whoever said that it's either an all or nothing sort of deal.
If their short then your going to have to D up on the perimeter because they will reign.A woman with size will force you to get physical underneath.
Let's put it this way.....if your cranking ouit crossover drives to the hoop at will then it feels kind of foolish.
It's like the movie Wargames...The best move is not to play.....Stick to playing with dudes.
You let up out there.....just a losing proposition. The times good women players have hooped with us,I'm afraid of hurting them. The whole game becomes a walk through cluster#uck.

I got beat by the point guard of a High School girls team...I had 5 inches on her...but she was too fast.

I started the game shying away from contact but by the end of the game I was playing aggressive defense and contesting every shot. I lost 11-8 going to 11 by ones.

But I am fat and out of shape, so I don't doubt that most of you guys who play could have taken her. But its not a total cakewalk.

That's true. I'm just trying to relate my experiences to the question. I'm sure there's some WNBA players that could beat me. However, in my opinion, most wouldn't.

all I know is I've beaten a D3 women's team player. I doubt I could beat someone much better than that...esp. if they were anything but a PG since I ain't that tall.

I've played with girls on the UT basketball team, and they pretty much went with the flow at Gregory. They're probably about equal to the average Gregory baller. The biggest advantage girls have is that guys don't play hard when defending/being defended by girls.

About 4 years ago I met Katie Smith http://www.wnba.com/playerfile/katie_smith/index.html, who was the Lynx leading scorer and on the US Women's Olympic team at a bar and tried to get her to play me in a pick up game. I think she was interested but she said her contract didn't allow her to play in pick up games. I doubt I could've beaten her as she is 4" taller than me already and I heard from someone at Ohio State that she's not shy about throwing elbows but it would've been interesting to take her on.

Rambling here. In person she's really friendly and a lot better looking than the pic at the link does her justice. When I told her I was a big Rockets fan she talked about the T-mac Francis trade that just happened.

Yes, but I did play college ball, can dunk, and have a mid-range J as silky as Ray Allen's, so that may not be fair.

I think the assumption we are making in this thread is that the woman would have to be in comparable height to you. I also think that being 1-on-1 actually works against the WNBA player because it lessens any conditioning advantage the WNBA player might have over a normal, athletic guy.

Girls always hack like crazy and then call fouls if you breathe within 3ft of them......they also take extra steps to get separation and occasionally lie about the score...
