You don't tell me ignorance of your history is an advantage and something you are proud of. No Chinese deny the miserable part of our history such as the cultural revolution. We will remember the history to avoid repeating it. While we are making progress and trying to learn the good things from the Western society, it seems there is such danger that you may forget your history such as the time when McCarthyism overwhelmed the States which "ended many a career and damaged a good number of lives (in the words of CNN)".
