Yeah but it wasn't made like a commercial - such as LeBron's. That very well might have been intended though. I think LeBron's commercial was obvious fake - this not so much. Only reason people are laughing at how fake it is, is because they don't think Kobe would risk it - who knows?
There is no doubt in my mind that Kobe could easily jump over that car if he wanted to, but that doesn't mean that this isn't fake. After watching it again I believe it is real.
come on dude.. embed it <div><embed src="http://www.livevideo.com/flvplayer/embed/CEC04FBA9E2444F3AB23B1CA839D0500" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" WIDTH="445" HEIGHT="369" wmode="transparent"></embed><br/><a href="http://www.livevideo.com/video/embedLink/CEC04FBA9E2444F3AB23B1CA839D0500/587437/can-kobe-jump-high-enough-to-c.aspx">Can Kobe jump high enough to clear a moving Aston Martin? Apparently!</a></div>
If you pause it right before the car gets to him.......the car is behind him and he is just jumping.........But if he really tried it he would have made it..........But why would he do it....He knows he will catch crap from people..... BTW....is that a comercial ~ROX~
If it's real, Kobe is risking career ending injuries. I'm sure Lakers would love seeing their multimillion dollar star doing that.
look where copy stands before he jumps... right on the lamp post shadow. now look where the front passenger wheel goes over... the outside of the lamp shadow. it's fake
Yes, and that's a good enough reason to say this didn't happen. Kobe Bryant is a professional athlete who's committed to his career. He's not going to risk that for a stupid stunt.
They just showed this on TNT... I say fake. Kobe's shadow was of a different intensity, and did not transfer to the car "beneath" him, while the shadow of the lamp post did. Blue screen or green screen work going on in this one, methinks.
I'm surprised it took so many replies for someone to mention the Francis commercial. That's what immediately came to mind for me when watching the Kobe one. Steve Francis' was during a Reebok commercial. Some kids also tried to copy it and the kid broke his leg, resulting in the commercial being pulled from the air.
Oh yeah, and the Francis one was done with computer graphics. I don't even know why there is an argument that this Kobe one is real.
It's pretty well done, and a cool concept, but it's fake. The fact that he's showing the shoes right in front of the camera at the start gives it away. I'm a media student. Viral marketing and new media are the new way forward over traditional advertising, and knowing Nike and their history of pushing promotional boundaries, it's something they'd do. So get used to it, promo advertisements like this is already happening at an increasing rate and are gonna be the thing of the future.
[cartman]laaaaaame![/cartman] so fake. now these are real and impressive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cySfw8f0beg http://ballhype.com/video/joey_gathright_huge_jump_over_dogers_player_spring/
