The United States National Anthem, and most national anthems, evokes pride and patriotism. The Canadian National Anthem evokes memories of Americans singing it horribly. I had a friend who sang it for a convention and forgot the words. I present Jamario Moon. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-huKocvalsk&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-huKocvalsk&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
From a musical standpoint, it is much MUCH better than the American national anthem, never mind that we stole our melody from a Brittish drinking song. Add to the fact that the Star Spangled Banner is difficult to sing well, and you're more likely to hear a good version of O Canada. Our national anthem gets butchered on a daily basis.
Said it before, Ill say it again... National anthems have no place in sports. Country VS country maybe. But not in leagues like the NBA, MLB, NFL, College, etc... Its just stupid.
Me too, imo...only the outdoor sports should have it. Like Football, Baseball etc. It's just awkward at Basketball games, hockey etc....
