Here's hoping he throws some elbows at Kobe and Boozer. We could be matched up with either team in the playoffs.
Grant it, I only watched the 2nd half and maybe he did better in the first half but Tim Duncan is playing soft. He is hesitant going one-on-one against O'Neal like he wants no part of facing him.
Looks like Spurs are losing. There is still a small chance that we can get to the second seed: if we win out AND the Spurs lose one more game. I want to take either the 5th seed or the 2nd seed. The worst case is to get the 3rd seed and get Suns or Lakers. But that is the least likely to happen (we beat the Spurs but not the Suns or the Lakers). Bottomline: winning at least 3 more games is extremely important.
Rockets will win on Friday. The last game the Rockets played the Suns on a b2b and made a game of it in the end. This time it is at the TC and I have faith the team will come out with the W.
dallas is rolling right now. but of all the teams, dallas and utah are our best matchups. our only guarantee is playing denver
We won and practically blew out the Spurs before that early game collapse in the season because Yao played Duncan so well. Size hinders Duncan a lot.
The Suns and Spurs are the only teams the Rockets have next to no chance in a series. Much more firepower and the floor leaders to recognize how to play to their advantages. As well as the Rockets defense is playing I just don't see them controlling either. The Lakers and Jazz would be tough, but neither are great interior defensive teams. Also, their best offensive guys, Boozer, Williams, Kobe--we have some capable guys to throw at them (ScoLandry, Hayes, Rafer, Shane). Better matchups than versus Duncan, Manu, Parker, Amare, Nash, Oneal, etc. Also, the Lakers have a tendency to implode and play tight, like the way Dallas did last year. Chemistry wise and probably confidence wise, they are the weakest of the 4. Honestly I don't think the Mavs are any better of a draw than the Jazz or Lakers. They can give any 2 seed a run for their money. Of the top 7 teams (outside of Houston) probably the most desirable draw is New Orleans. They are not as statistically impressive as the others, and they have no playoff experience. But they can about cement the 1 seed with a win over the Lakers friday. If they lose that game, 50/50 the Lakers catch them for the 1 seed IMO.
Tmac is going to have to play great and the Rockets will need a great defense effort/the Suns an off day shooting 3s. The Suns have a couple of things most Rockets opponents don't have, great 3 ball shooting + inside guys that need doubles. Phx also really isn't a bad team at defending 3 shoooters--there bigger challeges are defending power bigs and super quick penetrating PGs. Really there best chance is Phx is flat, Phx just got through a back-to-back with a very intense SA game on the end. Phx got bombed by a hyped up Detroit squad in a similar situation about 1 month ago. So the Rockets need to play as a focused intense team and hope to catch them on an off night. I don't really expect it.
Sorry...even though you'll NEVER admit it...the Greyhound Theory will prevail. Easier to find Hill's and Barbosa's and Bell's and Diaw's than it is Duncan's.
