The Rockets vs. Lakers game at 4:30 isn't the only game NBC will be covering at the same time. The Spurs play at the T'Wolves also at 4:30. That shouldn't mean much to the folks in Houston or possibly around the country, but in Austin don't be surprised if NBC carries the Spurs game.

Be sure to check out the pregame show on NBC as well...they've had cameras following the Rockets around behind the scenes like never before and will do a lengthy story on them. A Must See TV for Rockets fans.

I ran an Austin zip code through a tv guide thing and it showed SA-TWolves.

God knows I'm biased on this subject but as someone who lived in San Antonio I personally do not understand why they are featured so heavily in the Austin area. I would much rather watch the Rockets. I hope they are still on Direct TV.

The Spurs are the defending NBA Champions and therefore are shown more heavily around the state than the Mavs and Rockets.

Even though the Rockets held training camp in Austin, the Rockets do not market to Austin fans with no connections to Houston.
The Spurs have a ticket package for Austin residents something the Rockets should look into.

According to ESPN, they have moved the SA/MIN game to 2 pm. The Rocks will have the NBC Spotlight at 4:30 all to themselves in front of a national audience.

Austin to Alamodome - 1 hr
Austin to Compaq Center - 3 hr

It breaks my heart, but the Austin press consider the Spurs to be Austin's home team.

I would guess that Austin has A LOT more Houston transplants than it does San Antonio transplants because UT brings in people from all around the state. We also know that Houston residents are smarter and better educated than San Antonio residents, so that would indicate more Houstonians in Austin.

Seriously, Houston is larger than San Antonio and I don't know anyone who is from San Antonio here.

Well, I spoke too fast. We do have to share the national audience with SA/MIN. They rescheduled 4 games today to satisfy NBC's wants. That's ok, they will be obligated to show us nationally in about 3 or 4 years when we are in the Finals...
