I got my first impressions of these games last night: NBA inside Drive: Awesome rebounding compared to other basketball games. Good blocking out and rebounding techniques. Very realistic. Your momentum will cause you to lean in on shots like Sherman Douglas. Awesome fastbreaks and sometimes the other team will cherry pick or shoot out. Great passing for lobs, cross court passes, and baseball style. Great detail. Very nice likeness of players at a distance. Great camera angles (6 I think) for gameplay Shooting gauges and Fatigue available as you run the courtx and shoot. Call plays and strategy during game play Fast paced: arcade style, but if they ever developed a slower version of the game it would destroy NBA live. Not a good simulation game (yet). Fantasy draft, but no Franchise. They will have that next year All Star level had me down 22-0. I quit. B+ Nightcaster: I havent gotten very far just yet, but the fighting with orbs is cool, you can send the orb away from you to do battle at a distance. It's a Nice fighting feature that other games will soon incorporate. Terrible Character interaction. You have to read the scrolls lots of times. Lots of fighting to do. Reminds me of Gauntlet. C- so far. Hope it gets better.
I don't know, but I heard that NFL2K2 had much better graphics than Madden. I have Madden right now. It has great replay value and overall it's a pretty good game. Maybe one of the best games, but NFL2K2 may just be better.
I was a Madden Fan since the NES days. But after my cousin got a Dreamcast and NFL 2K the first day it came out, I just got addicted to the game. Madden has just been the same since the Super NES days. I like how Madden lets you play past NFL Teams like the early 90's Cowboys. I hope a NBA game does that soon so I can play the 94,95 Rocks. I own both NFL 2K1 on Dreamcast and NFL 2K2 on Xbox. I also got Inside Drive last week and it is an OK game. I believe NBA 2K2 will be WAYYY better.
i love madden 2002 for x-box, it's one of my favorite games of all time. i have nfl 2k2 on dreamcast but i'm not sure if it's much better looking on x-box or ps2. nfl2k2 is more realistic looking than madden but madden is more high rez and i think just looks alot cooler. they also play completely different so it's basically just which style you like more. both are great but madden has much more to offer in terms of a better franchise and create a team/player options. i finally got around to renting nba id2002. i was a bit dissapointed in it but it wasn't bad for a first effort although not as good as nba 2k when it first came out. it's a definite arcade feel but it really feels rushed and there are quite a few animation bugs. it doesn't even look as good as 2k2 on the dreamcast. one major plus is that fastbreaks are much better than 2k2. i think if they polish it up, add a franchise and create a player mode, it could definitely challenge the 2k series. nonetheless, still way better then nba live 2002, i can't understand why anyone likes that game.
