What does losing Rice and Walt have anything to do with our present situation; they contributed little to nothing when they were playing? Our best team and the team of the future is on the floor right now.
I've said the same thing in previous years. Getting to the playoffs is an accomplishment that these guys need to feel early in their careers because I feel it will help build their confidence and I think we all know what a confident Rockets team is capable of.
Because they are much better than guys like Morris, Langhi, Collier, and Brown, at least at this point in their careers.

Boy Rocketman: It's not often I disagree with you, but I've got to here. Despite Cato's unreal play over the last several weeks, and the eventual return of Mo Taylor, it would be really nice to get another big man on the team for next season. Either that, or someone has to teach EG a post-up move. A top draft choice would be a very nice thing to have this year. Add a top draft choice to Mo Taylor and Glen Rice next season, and the Rockets are a very tough team. I'm not sure what it means to learn how to win. The Rockets have won big games this year. I think that they are losing games because they have been overmatched, particularly when Francis hasn't started -- not because they don't know how to win.
The Rockets might have looked a little overmatched at times this year. But the line-up that's developing will be overmatched by.... nobody, really. Maybe Sacramento. I would say LA, but we'd have the advantage at 3 positions . Cato, Griffin, Mo, Kenny, Mobley, Francis, Moochie. Six players right there that I'd stack up against almost anybody. I'd start Mo, Griffin or Kenny at the 3... but even if you don't, they make super-duper subs. IMO, all that rotation really needs is a pure 3 - preferably a lights-out shooter, since that's the one thing we don't have right now. If Houston gets to pick in the 6-10 range, I could see us getting Dunleavy or someone else to fill that role. Then nail down a couple of decent veteran journeymen who can get 10-15 minutes a game, and we're ready for 55 wins and the Western Conference semi-Finals.

I don't think I even want Cat and Francis putting that kind of tremendous stress on themselves. It's just not possible. I'm sure if someone calculated, it ould show that 2 teams have to lose tremendously for us to make the playoffs. I'm talking .300 season from now on. I don't think we can anticipate that from the Clipps, Sonics, Jazz, or Phoenix.
