Man, Northeastfan was one of the biggests pessimists on this board. I'm glad to see he doesn't think the Rox will do much in the POs, that bodes well for the team. I never lost faith in the team, and perhaps somewhat naively thought they would turn it around, but I could not have imagined the 22-game win streak and 50+ wins with no Yao. Amazing. If the Rox could make the 2nd round this year, that would be nearly a championship equivalent for me. 2nd round this year=no more hearing about McGrady's failures in the 1st round + BIG-TIME optimisim for next year!
Before anyone jumps my case, when I say "no Yao," I mean how the Rockets soldiered on without him, I more than recognize his contributions prior to his injury.
Man, I hate it when fans rather have their team go lottery than have a chance ( slim as most think to make it past first round ) to play in playoffs. Anything can happen. I would rather see them compete late April than just wait for next year.
wait till we get whooped in the first round again...i can't wait to see the threads thats going to be started. i predict 45 "trade t-mac" threads.
In my humble opinion, being wrong is a part of the game. Look, I kept watching the Rockets. Whether they were going to make is seemed like a distant possibility. Especially with the Denver Nuggets - star studded team; and the Golden State Warriors - another Star studded team. And Dallas, Utah, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and New Orleans all virtually guranteed spots based on Talent and team chemistry. Without Yao, and the Rockets climbing all the way down from the the 10th spot seemed unrealistic to me. Did I stop watching? Of course not. But, my personal goal for the team was just to make the playoffs - and I was doubtful but neither was I giving out gurantees; because they are pointless. And they made it with 5 games to spare. Home field advantage is there for the 1st round which would be big. GOOOOO Rockets!!!!!
I knew that some how they were going to respond when they were sitting below .500, the team was just too good not to make the post season.
See, I don't get that. We already have 3 rookies who are important to our team, (though Brooks is still an x factor admittedly. Add to that, isn't it much better for the team to get playoff experience? The experience will be good for them and leave them wanting more next year, particularly knowing Yao will be back in the mix.
Well, BrooksBall ate crow in his own thread, but is back to trying to be a smartass in later threads. Certainly his dumb thread didn't teach him to be a more humble poster afterwards.
