He is averaging 23.4PPG/5.9APG/5.8RPG since Yao went down. The team is 16-5 since Yao went down to injury, and he has been the leader of that charge.

His shooting %'s haven't been great, but still...the guy is producing and playing like a superstar, and leading the Rockets to possible homecourt advantage in the tightest WC races EVER.

No,we need to build a rhythm and win against the Suns,Jazz and the Nuggets if we are to develop some confidence going into the playoffs.

Nevermind, I forgot that division record is the first tiebreaker if both teams are in the same division. We need to be 2 games better than the Spurs over the last 5 in order to get the 2 seed which isn't likely.

    OR

In the event of a 3 way tie between us, the Lakers, and the Spurs, the tie break is the best record between all 3 teams. Currently, we're 4-3, the Spurs are 4-3, and the Lakers are 2-4. There's one game remaining between the Spurs and Lakers. If the Lakers win that game, we would hold the tiebreaker should we all end up with the same record.

in a normal year, yes we should rest mcgrady and deke now. but this year is just unprecedentedly crazy and with only 5 games left we still have something important to play for.

so i'd say no. our next game is wednesday so some rest is warranted after a 5-game roadie. and if we blow out seattle at home early, maybe we can find extra rest time for the starters. that may be the only sort of thing we can do before the playoffs; unless we're locked into a certain seeding.

Not yet. I really think we need HCA. I know it didn't do much for us last year, but even it's a small advantage, we need every possible break at this point. I hope that by the last 2 games things are pretty much locked up and we can rest everyone that needs it.

We were one of the few teams to beat UTAH at home this year. Not sure why everyone is soo scared. We did most of our damage against them that game when Yao was out with foul trouble. So far as to my count our record in Utah this year is 1-0.

I don't think Deke is excited about the idea of 'rest'. :D

oh and another point id like to make...look what resting the all-stars did for the the Dallas Mavericks last year. They were way out of sync and just got there butts handed to them

I think we need to rest deke...........But not tracy,,Reason Being.....Tmac will try to come back in the playoffs and take long contested jumpers if he hasent played for a couple games.........he needs to play 30 minutes a night and stay in a rhythm........

It we need to rest anybody it should be Shane Battier......He really needs to be healthy to shut down star players in the playoffs....

Home court didn't help us last year and in 95. I think a healthy TMac is more important.

Utah's got a tough ending schedule: at NO, at Dallas, Den, Hou, and at SA so if we have home court when we face them I say start resting the starters for sure.

Not now. We might be fighting for position for the rest of the season. We have to stay locked in that 5 spot as long as Utah stays at 4. But under any circumstances stay away from the 3 and 6 spot. 2 spot is the only other option and the 1 spot is way too much of a reach.

Rockets have to hold themselves to the 5th spot because there is where their best chances of making it to the conference finals lies.

    look at this.

    1 New Orleans
    4 Utah
    5 Houston
    8 Denver

    And now look at this...

    2 San Antonio
    3 LA Lakers
    6 Phoenix
    7 Dallas

You don“t want to fall down to that second group, I think Houston is in position to beat arguably NO, Denver and Utah while on the other hand will be hard to beat San Antonio, Lakers and Phoenix, and arguably Dallas the way they have been playing lately.

Hold to the fifth seed no matter what.

I think so, yes. It would be great if we can lose every game from now on so we can be 8th seed and end up playing the most favorable plausible match up we may get (i.e. Hornets instead of Lakers or Jazz).

    Just my two cents...

    try to win every game.

if anyone ahead of us loses a couple in a row we could grab a top 3 seed.

if the streak taught us anything it's that this team feeds off of confidence and momentum.

Rest them? Not a chance.....play them hard.....win every game......got to get that intensity back and they need to find their mojo again.

It'd be nice to rest T-Mac in the final game of the season againsd the Clips. He should be playing in every other game, though.

And it should be mandator that he does his special warmup before every game of the playoffs! He will lose rythym if he doesn't.
