nah, i'm not talking about me. i was just stating some of my friend's view from my conversation with them. and if they think this is a bad international relation move, i think they have to right to do what they believe in.

This is America, not "the west". If you were a true American you would know this. Quit being Chinese and be American. You don't deserve to vote anyway.

Dang it. The other guy responded instead. Well that goes for them all.

I know, its insane that someone would vote based on one topic alone.

Yes, is this the democracy you want, if someone's view doesn't agree with your, they should not vote?

Since when is one only allow to care for one country? Did China do something to really harm the United States recently? You care about Tibet plenty it looks like.

Do you have Jewish friends with strong convictions on the state of Israel?

That is like the piece that tipped the scale, it wasn't like I was strongly favoring her instead of Obama, just read my post from way back.

Obama is no friend of China's. Remember when he said he wanted to ban all toy imports from China because of a few incidents? The guy is anti-free trade and that is not good for China at all.

remember when he clarified it? and it turns out that like most people he just wasn't clear. It doesn't surprise me that you only try to present half the story.

It's more than one now. (honk)

I am deeply disturbed by reports of a crackdown and arrests ordered by Chinese authorities in the wake of peaceful protests by Tibetan Buddhist monks. I condemn the use of violence to put down peaceful protests, and call on the Chinese government to respect the basic human rights of the people of Tibet, and to account for the whereabouts of detained Buddhist monks.

These events come on the 49th anniversary of the exile of the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists, the Dalai Lama. They demonstrate the continuing frustration of the Tibetan people at the way in which Beijing has ruled Tibet. […]

Tibet should enjoy genuine and meaningful autonomy. […] Now is the time to respect the human rights and religious freedom of the people of Tibet.

He'll go... even if it's just to prove to himself that he can attend a sporting event without getting booed.

They won't let him light the torch though. There's a spitting problem in urban Chinese cities.

Neither Obama, McCain or even pathetic Bush have ruled out whether our president should not attend the opening ceremonies. The issue is Hillary's premature statement today that is nothing more than a distraction from her flaming campaign. Anyone without blinders can see this for what it is.

I'm not sure what makes this statement premature as the Olympics are headline news right now with major protest going on along the torch route. I'm curious if Obama had made the statement would you call it premature?

My guess is that Obama will support this position.
