    OMG!!!

Amare is the worst low post, great PF, of all time. In other words, he is the best PF of all time with now low post offensive skills.

    Go Mavs. yawk!!!

mavs need to win, we need to get at least a 5th seed or homecourt.

    Observations:

    1) Dirk is proving why he's the defending MVP.

    2) Brandon Bass continues to be an unsung hero. Neither Shaq nor Amare (surprise, surprise) can guard him. He's also playing Shaq tough inside considering how much size he's giving up.

    3) Phoenix can't close out games.

Suns score less than 10 points in a quarter. Can you believe it?

damn i wouldn't want to face dallas right now. they're clicking offensively. whoever faces them in the first round could lose pretty easily.

we need to face hornets or utah.

I just love when Amare chokes. I can't believe it, but I actually like the Mavs better than the Suns. Screw Shaq with his constant backstabbing, screw Amare, screw Cheap Shot Bell, and especially screw D'Andobie.

wow i hate the mavs, but big win for them. wow, it is weird seeing mario elie so happy and giving dirk a high 5 at the end of the game.

i second that. i hate the mavs so much that i want them to lose even if them winning benefits the rockets.

Looking at the boxscore, it looks like the supposedly soft "choker" Dirk more than held his own against Amare AND Shaq in a game that mattered - and that is just coming back from a pretty bad injury.

Good win for the Mavs and I have to respect them for it. This makes up for not closing out the Lakers. For all practical purposes, they clinched a playoff spot today.

The Suns could clinch a playoff spot with a win, not the Mavs.

For all practical purposes, the Mavs are in now. They are 2 full games ahead of the Warriors (plus they own the tie-breaker!) with 5 games left. 3 of those 5 are SEA, @POR and @SEA. If the Mavs go 3-2, they are in. If they go 2-3, the schizo Warriors have to win out.

In other words, go ahead and pencil Dallas in as a #7 or #8 who might be trouble for a top seed.

The Rockets are in too. This clinching business doesn't mean anything. Anyone who thinks the Rockets can finish 0-6 while the Warriors go 5-0 is r****ded. Our only issue is whether we end up #2, #3, #5 or #6.

It's the regular season. Fair, or not, people call him soft because when it counted in the NBA Finals and last year during a series with the 8th seed he wilted under the pressure. Reggie Miller, a player who also never won a title, is considered eternally clutch for a couple of high profile playoff performances. It's the nature of the beast. Dirk is one of the best players in the league, but he's in the same boat as McGrady (despite achieving a lot more in his career) until he wins a championship.

No, that's your expectations. You can say their playoff chance are better than 80% because of tie-breakers and schedule. But the Mavs havent clinched a playoff spot yet - that means 100%.
