Prior to surgery, Yao has two options: Surgery or TCM. Apparently he or Rox chose the surgery. Now he turns to TCM for complication from the surgery. It just does not sound right. What I mean is if it is not broken, do not fix. If Yao really believes human body is like a machine, put pins into both feet.
This should help to erase the skepticism and suspicion of fans that wondered why Yao Ming seeks help from TCM.
Funny how people are ignoring the fact that Yao already chose his way of healing when he had the operation. I am glad he is looking to TCM as well........ Yao is a good guy and is very politically correct....very smart. DD
Why is this a letter written to my penis? And why isn't he trying Mid-Western medicine? Namely dousing his foot in tussin and praying to Jesus for it to be restored? He should get one of those pastors in the mega churches to yell at his foot for the demons to come out and then smack him in the face. He'll be ready for playoffs in no time.
I think what is being sought, is getting the bone to knit quicker. The surgery and screw keep the bone in place and reinforce that area for future strength, but the body has it's own timeline for bone knitting. If anything you can ingest will speed that process up, fine. I don't see how you can interpret the surgery as unsatisfactory simply because Yao is seeking to quicken the bone healing.
is this already a given? Yao says he will be ready for Olympics http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5h1eG69y9yjKR54ROjiaN7IckCNww
why is there a big fuss about TCM? it's very common there to have both applied. doctors there have to learn western and eastern medicine at school. it's never about dissatisfaction with one or the other. people have their beliefs and both methods work to different degree for different things.
Well, he is now slightly ahead of schedule on his rehabilitation, even though not yet ready to throw away the crutches and walk on his own (not to mention start to run). Given another 2 to 3 weeks or so (i.e. by end of April), he should be able to throw away the crutches and start to walk and gradually apply force to his left leg/foot/ankle. So given another month to 6 weeks for more intensive rehab, he will be able to run and maybe start some contact basketball by mid/end June . And per his current plan, he is to return to China to rejoin the national team by early/mid July, and will start playing some pre-Olympics warm up tournament/games. Yeah.....definitely he will be ready for the Olympics by August. But whether he will be back into his 100% top form, that's another question, but he will be ready to compete then.
