When I was at UH, I won a $20 gift card. I tried to use it at the Satellite and they said they don't accept cards. I haven't really been to Starbucks since that.
http://www.dominicanjoe.com/about.asp They do a lot of great things there. From what I gather you are from Austin DD. The shop is on south congress and riverside. Stop by sometime! I find the prices reasonable and the Dominican coffee delicious.
some of you will be surprised by how much money people spend on coffee every day. at some of my cafes in downtown we have regulars that will spend $10-15 a day on their drinks. i don't like hot drinks, but love iced coffees/lattes.
Wait. So all these years I thought I had met Major a few times when I had seen you out. I always thought he was the white guy you were always with, with short hair. Now after looking into Dominican Joe's it looks like Major is Indian. Is that right?
dont go to starbizzucks but we brew their brand coffee at work. only go when another person suggests meeting there, or to tag along during breaktime to see a hottie or two stroll in... I prefer going to 7-11 for coffee
I hate everything about coffee...the smell, the taste, the color, the beans, the grinds, the grinders, Starbucks, etc. . In fact, I almost killed my parents growing up just because they used to start a pot of coffee at 7 am in the morning and the smell would permeate through the house into my bedroom and wake me the ***** up because it was nauseating to whiff in. To this day, I can't stand the stuff. Just yesterday, I had to sit in my work cube and be overwhelmed by some mofo's cup of coffee overpowering the entire floor. Gross! If I had a choice to drink acid or coffee because I had a gun to my head, then I would probably drink the acid and die.
Prob 3-4 x/wk.... they usually do well on espresso, so can't complain. Wish a fantastic local place like this one was closer to home: http://www.dominicanjoe.com/
Actually our first one was closer, but this one the talent was equal on the field, I put the win down to coaching. DD
So once again, I am doomed to sound snotty. I used to like Starbucks, but I think they've gone way downhill. The last time I got a "latte" there, it was not recognizable as such. There are a couple of neighborhood places I walk to where the artists of espresso and milk make drinks so amazingly perfect drinks that I am hooked as long as I have a spare $2.50 I've been to the original Starbucks store in Seattle, and it's really different. They still really pull the espresso instead of hitting buttons on a machine. I don't blame them for the mass production though; I don't see how else they could have grown into their current empire.
