Only been 4 or 5 times in my life. The last time I went was at a drive-thru and they were doing this stupid thing where the person in front of you pays for your order without knowing what you got. So I get to the cashier and she told me that the car in front already paid for me and asked if I was interested in continuing the chain. I said, "Hell no, weirdos!" and just drove off with my free drink. I prefer tea anyways.
I don't drink coffee but if I did, why would I pay that much for it... I have gone in a couple of times to get hot chocolate over the holidays or Chai Tea...But again, its expensive...
Ditto. I never get their regular coffee. It's always a non-fat, no-whip Mocha or a non-fat latte. Sipping on the former right now. One point a few months ago, I was going daily. That didn't really help the wallet. Now I limit it to once per week, but I love it.
Ditto on the wife. I refuse to buy anything there because I'm just too hip....but my wife counters that a hundredfold. Damn Latte's and steamed milks for the kiddies...
the people at the starbucks inside of shell are pretty cool folks. but man, do i hate starbucks guy/girl douchebag patron.
nope for me...maybe like 1-2 times a year and that's b/c my husband wants to stop in so i get something but usually i just have a sip of whatever he got. my mom prefers exxon mobil coffee or mcdonald's coffee much more. i don't drink much coffee in general. i do kinda boycott them and walmart though. they make enough money, they don't need mine.
I don't go to Fourbucks too often, because of the expense. (and the calories in those sugar drinks) Probably only every few months, and more often on road trips because it's good stuff to drink in the car. Or when my mom is paying. Here's the best value from Starbucks and what I usually do: get a Venti regular drink, either iced green tea or drip coffee. $2 and will last you quite a while. You can save half of the coffee for the next day to be iced coffee, and it will wake you up. All that said, however, usually these days I brew my own tea or coffee - much more economical - or fill up the coffee mug at work. If I'm out somewhere else and feel the need to pay for caffeine, I use a convenience store.
Nope, not at all. Convenience is the game for me and Folgers Instant is it's name. No sense on putting on jorts just for Starbucks! If the wife wants to go I'll just have a hot chocolate.
I am a coffee snob and I refuse to drink whatever crap they call a "cappuccino" there or what the call "latte." I use to barista so I know a thing or two about coffee. The fact they they don't pull their own shots and they would steam milk incorrectly AND leave them sitting out is enough for me to hurl. If you are in the Austin area I would suggest Caffe Medici http://www.caffemedici.com/ They have two award winning baristas (finished in the top 3rd in the sw barista competition). And of course where I use to work, Dominican Joe. I can't speak for the baristas there anymore since I don't work there anymore and I don't know the new people...but if they follow the Standard of Procedure that me and my friend wrote, the espresso and steamed milk shouldn't be bad. Also, one of the owners is a clutchfan member as well. Some of yall might know him http://www.dominicanjoe.com/
Yes. I also go to local places, which I prefer. Starbucks is just easier a lot of the time. Am I required to kill myself?
Starbucks tends to burn their beans a bit and it's overpriced. Suprisingly, McDonald's coffee is pretty decent and it's only like $0.69 compared to like $1.70 for Starbucks. Basically at Starbucks, you pay a premium for the brand (i.e. that cool looking cup) and get only average coffee. That said, in the West Coast try the Coffee Bean. That stuff is good, as is Caribou Coffee in Minnesota.
