    I know Yao is out
I know the team is not 100%
    However
    NO EXCUSES!

    2nd round or Bust!

I think there are several opponents that are more favorable.
but I think all these teams are BEATABLE.

The Rockets simply have to ReFocus and ReGroup!

I am hopeful, but as a betting man, I would bet against it unless we get a top 2 seed.

if we can go to the 2nd round, with yao, we'll be automatic title contenders. if we aren't, we may be alot farther away than we think we are.

Depends on who we face in the first round. We just need to go back to that defensive intensity we had during the streak.

    NO, Denver - Easy
    Dallas, Lakers, Utah - 50/50
    Phoenix, Spurs, we need luck.

LOL in what way is NOs easy? NOs has been playing very good, I think everyone is taking them lightly.

I am worried, if we have a 100% healthy Landry we may be able to do it, if not very likely we are going out in 1st round again.

No excuses pretty much went out the window when Yao went down. Of all Western Conference playoff teams, the Rockets are the least talented. I already feel sorry for McGrady - He's going to be ciritcized if he doesn't make it out, but he honestly doesn't deserve it this time.

You guys are setting yourselves up for big disappointment come playoff time if you really believe this team will beat anyone in the playoffs. They simply don't have the talent to do so. I honestly think they will be lucky to take a first round series to 6 or 7 games. Especially considering they more than likely will not have the home court in that first round.

Im pretty sure that this season will be a step forward if we atleast advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs. This team cannot play with the big boys, but a 1st round win would leave me satisfied with the season/

    +1.

Even if we don't make it out of the first round, there's nothing to be ashamed of. Looking at it on paper, without Yao we have no business even in the playoffs. Making it would be a great success already, and making the first round series close would be enough for me.

I guess Tracy McGrady and Rockets will not pass the first round again, third time since he arrived.

Oh God please prove me that I'm wrong, Rockets fans haven't tasted playoffs for 11 years.

One thing about a McGrady led team is homecourt never really mattered since he always stole the first game or both. Even when we did have homecourt last year it was useless. The reality of us losing and losing badly in round 1 is starting to set in with our horrid play as of late. At least it makes the pain hurt much less knowing you're getting knocked out instead of having super high hopes and expectations like last years playoffs. :(

anyone who thinks it is probable that we advance passed the 1st round is just a homer. i think it is unlikely we get a 1st or 2nd seed, so its likely we will have to play NO,LA,SA,UTAH,or PHX in the first round.... our chances against ALL of these teams are very slim. remember we have to win 4 games against these teams, where they will get all the time in the world to dissect us and pick us apart, which is MUCH easier to do when you have only 1 star on a team.

its time for many on here to just face reality. without yao ming we are not as good as the teams in the west. we will need superhuman efforts from tmac and rafer to have any chance in hell at advancing. we are a JUMP SHOOTING TEAM without yao. just take a step back and look at our team objectively and see our chances are not good AT ALL. but, we should all be very proud this team is even in position to get into the post season after the 15-17 start, then losing yao for the season in one of the most competitive conference races EVER. even if we can't win more than 1 game in a series, i am proud of this team.

I dont think its possible. Without Yao is like taking away 50% of our playbook and this team was more customed with him in the picture. Without Yao we are just to predictable. With him Teams would have a very difficult time. This season was all about running our system around Yao and T-Mac and right now we are just to predictable. I think we can win 1 game maybe at home but other than that winning 2 games especially in the playoffs is virtually impossible at this point.

I agree our chance to pass the 1st round is slim. But it would be a mistake if we decide to trade Tmac because of it. It's not Tmac's fault that Yao went down and we would have a very good chance to pass the 1st round and go deeper in the playoffs if it didn't happen. My point is that Tmac deserves to have another season no matter what.
