It was in part two...how we used Reconstruction Funds to pay the guy off and make him walk away.

It's kind of like paying off awakening council militia members 300 bucks a month....

That's because Cheney, Rove, Libby, Addington, and others didn't want their name on it.

    Edit: And Rummy.

Frontline revealed several things about this administration and the Iraq War that I find very interesting or surprising.

    - The infighting between members of Bush's staff was interesting. It was basically the Vice President and DoD vs. the State Department and CIA.

    - I felt sorry for Powell. He along with Tony Blair was against invading Iraq, but the administration used him to make a case for it (with incredibly bad and outdated intel) in front of the UN. He pretty much lost his rep (and his job) at that moment.

    - George Tenet needs to grow a spine.

    - Condi Rice didn't have much of a voice in the administration until recently. It was all Cheney and Rumsfeld.

    - England looked like a reluctant participant in the war. That could explain why Basra is the way it is now.

    - Sadaam's excutioners chanted Al Sadr's name when they hanged him.

    - Bush seemed like a puppet. Cheney was always whispering in his ears. There was at least two moments in the documentary where Bush asserted himself. When they handed the evidence for WMD in Iraq, Bush was surprised at how little it was, but Tenet reassured (knowingly lied to) him that the evidence was good. The other moment was when he left for Iraq without his staff knowing and met Maliki.

LBJ was as resposible for the Vietnam war as Bush's reponsible for this war. However, I have problems with saying it's their wars because

    1. It's not fair to those who sacraficed for the war.

    2. Let those that support the war off the hook too easily. In this war, the neo-cons consipired to steer the Nation towards it and fairly large amount of population wanted it in spite of common sense and logic says otherwise. Mobs burned dixie chicks albums, and dont tell me now it's all Bush's fault. The way I see it is Bush was either a lame duck or a part of this neo-con gang and he got the support he wanted. It is Ameica's war.
