I got engaged on my birthday. I guess it did consolidate gifts for this year. But afterward, it's the wedding anniversary you celebrate, right? So that will be its own day. Congratulations and you're a brave, brave man to do it on this day... but, on the other hand, I guess it gave you a good out. If she acted like she didn't like the idea, "April Fools".

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. To answer the why today question here goes. Basically I bought the ring back in January but my luck they make them in Europe so I had to wait 6 weeks (rush order mind you) to get the ring. Then a couple days to get the diamond set and finally got it back yesterday. I had a good setup since she was coming over to help me take her brothers car to the body shop that I know so when she came in she was surprised cause I had a whole scene created in my house for it. I didn't really care about the day but she had no clue until a couple days ago when a few people slipped and she started wondering things. So I knew i couldn't do something out or different cause she would suspect things. Today was the only way I could have pulled it off because her coming over was already setup. Many of our friends thought it was a joke but then quickly saw we weren't kidding around lol. had to also get it done cause her sisters wedding is in a month and didn't want to do it too late. Basically it boiled down to the fact that everything fell into place to do it today and the damn wait for the ring was what dictated timing. I could give a rats behind about April fools lol. Alright..now we do have to have a get together to have drinks amongst friends.
Congrats Stack, and to everyone else who got engaged. Marriage is a great thing. I know this because I've been married for WELL OVER a month and a half now and I have WEEKS AND WEEKS of experience to draw from. Seriously, try to enjoy the wedding crap....er, planning. It will be over before you know it.
Congrats Stack! Just some advise, take out an individual article insurance rider from your insurance agent.. We had a big scare with the ring a few days after I gave it to her and it wasn’t insured yet..
LOL, Be nice.....I met Stack once, many years ago...that same night I whooped Rocketman95 and friends in the Texas Holdem Tournament that they had there. It was my first time playing. Stack seemed like a very nice guy.

Yes I am looking into it right now. I have seen some companies that are specifically for Jewelry and then some are telling me to just get home owners or renters and put it on that instead. Trying to get the pro's and cons.
