T-mac will have to turn back the clock in order for us to have a shot at winning anything in the first round.

We finish either 5th (against Jazz) or 6th (against most likely Lakers, possibly Pheonix).

I don't see anyway we get higher than that, considering we need to get a better record than San Antonio or New Orleans.

lmao, He won't do it. He's too caught up in thinking the Rockets can win when he doesn't have to score on each possession. Last night's game against the Kings, he did that. Kobe realizes when he needs to take every shot, if he had took that shot instead of Rafer (the one that Rafer chucked up and then got the rebound and jumpball) I think we would be sitting here happy. He doesn't understand that this team sucks without him not taking over. And he backs up his thing sometimes with "Oh the Rockets don't need me to score 40 every night" right after the role players play a good game. But what about a bad game? T-Mac has to be the Kobe of the last 2 years for us to even have a chance against the Suns, Spurs, or Lakers. I'm probably going to have to say the same for the Jazz and Hornets too now. This team is not a experienced team, we are like the 7th seed in the east (not meaning as bad as a 7th seed east but i mean in the situation of one) and we will play either Detroit or Boston, we have a little chance. Same thing with this, we have a little chance, I think we should tank and get 7th or 8th seed somehow and play the Hornets.

i don't care who we play. the outcome will still be the same, first round exit.

we're defintely losing to the Spurs, Suns, Hornets, Lakers, and Jazz.

im thinking that an interesting matchup for us would be against the hornets ...

    1. they got the whole rivalry thing goin on between cp3 and chandler vs skip ...
    2. the core of both teams' players dont have winning playoff experience
    3. they have no one who can stop tmac ...
    4. rafer will probably get owned by cp3 ... but he'll fare better head to head than whoever's guarding tmac will against tmac

    etc.

i read some article in espn magazine that said this is our only winnable matchup haha. i think we can fare well against the warriors and nuggets too ... not sure about the mavs.

We are weaker than LA SA NOH Utah and Sun.
So, stop talking, prepare for losing in 1st round, and hope for miracle.

The Rockets will finish 5th or 6th. If they get 5th, they could have home court against Utah. Utah has a tough schedule the rest of the way and the Rockets' is favorable.

Let's just hope we don't tailspin at this point and miss the playoffs altogether.

I like your laughter and confidence. Home court sounds like a stretch to me though given the way this team has played for the past several games. Most of our remaining "easy" games are on the road and we couldn't beat a lottery-bound Sacramento team last night that was missing it's starting PG for the entire game and it's starting C for most of the second half.

I think the laughter was caused by a certain thread you made about 1/3 of the way through the season.

Thanks for the update. I couldn't figure that out. ;)

By the way, other than the Rockets, I may be 7 for 8 on my prediction of which teams make the playoffs and that thread was created at about the midpoint of the season.

Many people doubted several teams on that list, including the Hornets, Jazz and Lakers... several even doubted the Spurs.

As much fun as people had slamming be about being sooooo wrong about the Rockets, those same people should go back and read how many predictions I called accurately in the face of all the doubters.

I was obviously wrong about the Rockets but that's about it.

Assuming the Rockets get homecourt against the Jazz, as you predict, what is your prediction on the outcome of that series?

Among all of the potential playoff teams, Utah, GS, and Nuggets are the three teams the Rockets have the best chance to beat. I think the odds are even again GS and Denver, but 4/6 vs Utah.

I don't see us beating Utah if their shot is on (namely William, and Okur). Our perimeter defense has been awful lately and Okur is a shoot forward. Why do you think we did so good vs Utah the first few games? Okur's shot sucked and we clogged the paint, then the last games his shot game back and we went down in flames like the Challenger. :(

I hope we finish 6th and play the Lakers. That's the only matchup I'd feel really confident about, besides New Orleans.

5th seed would be great. I think that we can handle the Jazz with the homecourt. Teams that we would lose to are Spurs, Lakers and Phoenix.

5th seed and we'll have homecourt advantage as we play the Jazz!!

If you don't believe me, go and look at the remaining schedule for us, Phoenix and Utah.

We'll go 6-2 to close out the season (55-27)
    Phoenix will go 4-3 (54-28)
    Utah will go 4-3 (53-29)

    Lock it in!
