As someone who was at the game, more like 70/30 in favor of boos would be more accurate. Trust me. The discrepancy was very obvious.

Also, Invisible Fan's link is a lot more telling -- the AP video in the initial post includes unrelated cheers at the beginning from prior introductions.

And that's about what the polls would predict. Most people don't like W.

I don't care if people hate him it's just lame to boo the president like that when he is throwing out a first pitch -- embarrassing for our country when this circulates around the world on YouTube/ etc.

I think it represents the beauty of the country. We have the right to free speech.

I agree, but Bush still sucks balls (ceremonial first pitches notwithstanding).

Booing is not exactly what I would call a shining example of free speech. More like the ugly backside. Either way, Bush detractors could use a little tact.

It sounded like more cheers on the fist video clip and more boo's on the second..

I don't mind the cheers nor the boo's

Any example of free speech is a shining example. A person might not like the free speech being exercised, but we believe in it, bad taste or not. One could say this is a good example of why politics and sports should be mutually exclusive. Having said that, I'm not at all surprised that he was booed.

It's not like any other world leaders would be booed......oh wait....yes they would.

I'm more surprised by the cheers....If he were more popular his supporters wouldn't have felt the need to cheer....

I've been at many events were the local politicians are booed. You can boo your own....just can't boo someone else's leaders. That would be different. I thought it was funny. He probably did too.

Throwing out first pitches is one of the few things he's good at, they should cheer him for something.
