Thanks Jon, another excellent article as always.

Any news on the Hakeem signing?

Ha! I can't believe I forgot to include that part. If I remember correctly, I think Daryl said he expects Dream to start tonight, and they're going to ease him in by limiting him to 30 minutes, max.

Oh, and he also said anything less than 20 points, 10 boards, and 3 blocks will be seen as a colossal failure and result in the immediate termination of Dream's contract. Just for the record, I'm expecting 30, 15 and 5, myself.

JCF (and it's Jason, not Jon).

30/15/5? But I thought the ball was supposed to ove...move...move. Byt, seriously - good write. Again. As always.

Q: DM, "We feel like we’ve got a good cap situation and we feel good about the future" - - good cap situation? I see it as not horrible; workable, perhaps. But not good for next season. Am I missing something or did DM the GM flummox the question?

They have a pretty good cap situation next year because they have so many expiring contracts. The Lakers got Gasol because they had a huge expiring contract - we've got Jackson, Francis, and Novak at least all with expiring contracts (and Jackson has a big one). We're not in an ideal cap situation for preseason, but around the trade deadline we'll be in good shape.

No apology necessary at all. Just wanted to clarify.

Nicely done.... I enjoy hearing from Morey and your Q's were good ones. Morey appears to be becoming obtuse (typical GM) over time.

The Cap situation (as shown on HoopsHype) does not show Francis, Hayes, Novak, or Landry yet still shows 63.8mm committed. Their combined is @5.8mm = @69.6mm. Plus Deke, Harris and the #1 pick, total of nearly 4mm more. The Lux Cap is unlikely to exceed $70mm, so how is this a good Cap situation?

Trades can happen but MLE pick-up(s) seem impossible. (I had personally hoped Pietrus might find his way to the Toy Shop.) I hope DM the GM has a rabbit or two to pick out of his hat.
