I was curious about what Universities you people study at or previously attended. Also, what was your main focus of study? I transferred from Austin Community College(Department of Radio, TV, and Film) to Hunter College of the City University of New York(Dept of Film and Media Studies), where I also take music and theater classes. At the rate I am going , I am on the 6 and a half year plan! So whats your Alumnus, or where do you currently study, or where do you plan on going to college? 110
I received a BS in Applied Sociology from Southwest Texas. The applied means that I took a computer course for sociology and that I had an internship my last semester, one that normally results in a good job. Of course, I wasted it and worked with the Austin Ice Bats. Good thing though, if I had done something better and got a good job, I wouldn't have ended up with the best non-professional athlete job EVER. I plan on going back to school in the fall of 2003, just not sure for what yet.
Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin-2000 Environmental Technical Area Yes, I'm a conservative that wants to conserve the environment.
I'm a political science major at the University of Houston with a minor in French. I'm only a second year, but I'm a junior. Could be graduating in December 2003, but I'll probably do my 4 year sentence.
Political science major, with minors in philosophy and English at Boston College. I graduate this May.
St. Mary's University Bachelor's of Business Administration in Information Systems Minor in Business Admin.
Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering from the University of Calgary. Currently doing a master's.
Another PS major here. I'm a senior Government major at the University. I took the "explore my options in liberal arts" approach like Brian. I'm doing okay but the foreign language requirement (4 years!!!)is kicking my ***. Yes I have no right to complain. I better get on the ball quick in terms of an internship. Princess, do you know a Prof. Sloan? I took summer school at UH in 2001. One day in class I decided to wear a UT baseball cap. Turns out he got his masters at UT back in the 60's or something. That was cool. RM95, so an internship with the Ice Bats sucks? Do they write good recommendations?
Plan on: Going to the University of Toronto with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Business Management (4 years). If I were living anywhere outside the province of Ontario, I'd be done high school by now, but of course the dreaded 13-grade system got me. Just to follow up on across110thstreet's thread; Do you have any regrets with what and where you studied? Did you ever change major's or seriously consider changing? Did your study habits change at all between High School and College/University? Azim da Dream
As I walk through the U of H doors next spring it will most likely be journalism, but I may not be able to deny my love of film. So, we'll have to see.
I got my B.A. in journalism from UH. They actually have a pretty well-respected journalism department. If you do major in it, definitely work on the Daily Cougar -- I learned more from my time there than I did in any class.
broadcast journalism at UT, centration on sportscasting- i should graduate december 2004 and I'm volunteering at KVR-TV, the school tv station
Good luck with that! I have a few friends in that field of study and they seem to like it. Are you a good student? Look into the Honors College. it's not as dorky as it may sound!!
Isn't the Daily Cougar the 2nd most widely read paper in Houston? A bit Liberal for me, but I almost never miss an issue!
