Consider he couldnt even lift 45lb dumbells when he first got here, this is a big improvment.

That narrow grip pull down, I say around 150-180ish, should be in his 15rep range, not bad.

    This ain't April Fool Day's joke !! :D

But it seems like Big Yao is recovering ahead of schedule.....

Mengke Bateer just returned from Houston over the weekend, and while acting as the guest commentator for the Rockets versus San Antonio Spurs game on Beijing TV, Bateer disclosed that Yao Ming had been putting in a lot of effort in the strength and conditioning of his upper limbs in the gym at Toyota Centre (as evidenced by all the photos I provided above), and also spent alot of time jogging in the swimming pool at the backyard of his home.

the plates are all standard. . it's just rubber/urethane coated. yao is doing 225 lb bench. same weight they use at NBA combines to assess basic strength and endurance. yao can probably crank out at about 20, 22 presses... real strong guys can do reps in the 30s but yao's arms are long and we all know he has crap endurance... maybe pryuen knows how many he can do that would be interesting

note yao has no spotter, it's nowhere close to what he can max. but note the other pics yao is doing weaksauce weights. he's doing tris with 95lb, flies with 10 lb dumbells and about 180 on the dumbell bench. that's what an average 5'9" 160 dude would work out with so obviously yao is still taking it light with his workouts

Anyone else notice that he has no cast or anything on his foot/leg? I thought he just went through surgery, and i remember seeing him at the games on crutches, are these pictures current?

yao looks good in the pics.

maybe next time pryuen comes in, he will bring some news that says "yao is considering coming back in the playoffs"? in terms of healing, yao is always ahead of the schedule, you know.

He is benching 225. The bar weighs 45 lbs as well as the plates.

They use 185 lbs at NBA combines to assess strength and endurance. a 45 lbs plate and a 25 lbs plate on each side. Yao is benching 225 lbs.

Why is Yao blocking his own shoot?
